This is actually an old song. Some of the old-timers around here may remember this. I recorded the video over several days.
I was scrolling through YouTube and rediscovered it. Thought some of you might enjoy this.

Ten or so years ago.

I never listened to the original but i really enjoyed watching you perform this. Maybe more of us can do that-- it gave me a good chance to experience this in a different way.

I really enjoyed everything about this song lyrically and your vocals are really perfect for this song. The production is also really well done.

Thanks for sharing.

Sounding a lot like WIllie to me on this one. I would love to be able to sound like Willie. Good song and cool video as well.

Hi Herb ...

I didn't join this forum until very late 2011, so wasn't aware of this. So glad you reposted ... loved the song and your vocal delivery.

TuneMonger mentioned your vocal reminded him Willie. I agree. I also here a little bit of John Conlee in your voice - nothing wrong with that!

I always enjoy hearing some Good Ole Country Music. There just isn't enough of it out there these days. Enjoyed the music and the video - nice!

Alan

Shades of Willie! Excellent country tune.

Good to see you in action!

If I heard it before... well, ten years is a long time back. laugh

Vocal control, you say. Never heard of it. Is that some kind of ProTools thing?

Herb & Patricia,

Good Classic Country sound. Vocals fit that style well.

Best part of it is your solo. Simple and understated. Just what it needs to be.

Bob, thanks. I figured there's a number of new folks here so I reposted it. I don't do a lot of video recording and well, the sync is seriously off in a few places so.... thanks for listening and watching.

Andi Thanks.... So... the SG is a 1969 model. I bought it in 1972 and have had it since. It's been stolen twice from me and I got it back both times. It has also been refinished due to damage sustained by one of the slime balls who took it. It went from the factory cherry red to white and then to natural. It really needs some work but the luthier didn't really want to touch it for a variety of reasons. He said it was too fragile and too much work and would cost way more than I really wanted to put into it to get it factory again. He was right.

Man, I feel like I know you a little better now. The video did a great job in making this connect. I really liked the song and you delivery of it. I know others have mentioned Willie, and I hear that as well. You have the consistency in your voice from when he was on the top of his game.

All around great song Herb. I song that songs great at first, then continues that with further listens.

Thanks for sharing this gem! I fell as I may have missed it the first time around. I think I would remember it.

Guitarhacker,

Very old school country—very sweet in sound and arrangement. Warm vocals. Brings me back to 70s country. Nice work on the video and sweet playing, too. Cool stuff!

Hope all is well with you,

Deej

Very cool vid, Herb. I wasn't here then, so I'm an easy target for this. Besides, I'm old and one of the benefits is forgetting things. I can now watch the same movie every week and it still seems new. wink Man, this is good. Do more.

Enjoy whatever happens!

CA Madison. I feel the same way mostly because we all form an image of someone based on their voice and words.... but when we see them, we're very often way off base. I appreciate the comparison to Willie as he was one of my icons in the early days.

David Snyder. Cool, I'll take that as a compliment. Of course back in the day this was sent to NSAI and they told me to basically rewrite it from scratch....oh and that it was too close to a certain Willie Nelson song with a similar title. Ahhh memories.

Deej. Thanks.... I kinda sit and think from time to time what it would have been like to have BB and sonar back in the 70s.....

Marty/Babu... I hear you... I'm in the same boat.... The upside to a bad or short memory is that you can watch the same movie over and over and it's fresh every time.... Thanks for the kind words. I am considering doing some of my old songs with BB.... stuff that basically got recorded on a cassette in the room with guitar and vocals. Stay tuned.

The Band-in-a-Box® Flash Drive Backup Option

Today (April 5) is National Flash Drive Day!

Did you know... not only can you download your Band-in-a-Box® Pro, MegaPAK, or PlusPAK purchase - you can also choose to add a flash drive backup copy with the installation files for only $15? It even comes with a Band-in-a-Box® keychain!

For the larger Band-in-a-Box® packages (UltraPAK, UltraPAK+, Audiophile Edition), the hard drive backup copy is available for only $25. This will include a preinstalled and ready to use program, along with your installation files.

Backup copies are offered during the checkout process on our website.

Already purchased your e-delivery version, and now you wish you had a backup copy? It's not too late! If your purchase was for the current version of Band-in-a-Box®, you can still reach out to our team directly to place your backup copy order!

Note: the Band-in-a-Box® keychain is only included with flash drive backup copies, and cannot be purchased separately.

Handy flash drive tip: Always try plugging in a USB device the wrong way first? If your flash drive (or other USB plug) doesn't have a symbol to indicate which way is up, look for the side with a seam on the metal connector (it only has a line across one side) - that's the side that either faces down or to the left, depending on your port placement.

Band-in-a-Box® 2024 Review: 4.75 out of 5 Stars!

If you're looking for a in-depth review of the newest Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows version, you'll definitely find it with Sound-Guy's latest review, Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows Review: Incredible new capabilities to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs.

A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."

"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."

"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
