Unfortunately, I couldn't repeat your findings. Every instrument I muted, stayed silent. Is there any chance that you saved the song as an Audio file at any stage? If so, it would possibly be playing that audio copy of the song as well as the SGU file.

OK, I've done further checking, and still could not repeat your findings.
Please check if you have exported / saved the song as a audio file with the same name.

So where do I clean up? But I shouldn't have done it. Including the "_jvelvetvelvet jazz funk fusion" introduced by DSM just now. It's my first time to listen to it, and I can't mute it in bar settings. Are you sure you have found the right style? Then you set guitar mute in 1bar. When you play it, you will find that the guitar is still making sound without mute.

Please download the sample song. After downloading, remove the '.mp3' file extension. Then open the song in BiaB and generate it. Do the guitars mute for the first 4 bars, then start playing at bar 5? That's the result I get.

Just loaded the Demo and changed it to one big chorus. The piano went bonkers at the end of the song, kept playing odd notes. So, I muted the Piano for the last 8 bars, which worked fine. Next play, the guitar did the same thing the piano did as described above. So, I muted the guitar for the last 8 bars as well, only to find that the piano was still muted, the guitar did NOT mute. I "covered" it up with the guitar solo I added. So, I'm ok with it.
This seems to be a sporadic issue. Duplicating may be difficult. I think that the 2 bar ending may or may not work well with certain styles. Just a guess.

BUT, Will this operation make my favorite LIST saved lost? How to save favorite LIST
Don't worry about the save. Please load the new sample song I attached here.
Just save and load this Test song and play it and show me the video of the song playing. Download the attachment, remove the '.mp3' extension so the file name looks like this: 'SwingBabyTest.SGU' then open it and play it and make a video of it and send the video. Thanks.

My internet speed is slow. In order to upload fast, I narrowed the picture. Look carefully, there is a red line. I'm not shrinking now. Let me show you again. Look carefully. There is a red line. I just opened the sug you gave me. I didn't make any changes.

OK, so do three things
1: Return to Factory Settings - Most (you can save current preferences first)
2: Load the second Test Song I sent.
3: Create a video and send it.
好的,所以做三件事
1:恢复出厂设置-大多数(可以先保存当前的首选项)

Well, Mike. I listened to the entire demo song, and fund no issues (well, on my computer at least).
What happens if you reload the song from scratch and just play it without unfolding or changing anything else? Do you still encounter a problem in the last 8 bars?

As I mentioned... it's sporadic. I tried it when I saw this discussion and it played fine.
I guess, you can hit some sour notes when you re-generate the song a number of times. My workaround was to freeze the good tracks and regenerate until the guitar was acceptable in the ending. Still didn't mute as instructed by the bar settings, though for this particular style.
Tried other styles with no issues for muting at any bar during a song. It's one of those mysteries I have no answer for and I doubt, the developers can do anything about a "random" issue like this.
Anyway, thanks.

Are you OK with these styles? That's strange.
The same software, the same version, actually happened
Just loaded it and did the following BEFORE playing:
- use bar settings on bar 25 and mute piano as well as guitar - then go to bar 1 and set both back to normal - hit PLAY - at bar 25, the piano mutes as instructed, the guitar plays on - now, without changing anything, hit Generate and play - again, at bar 25 the piano mutes as instructed, the guitar plays on
So, there is an issue for sure. And yes, I did the return to factory settings before the test. Hope, this link below works... it's the Demo saved as SGU

This is exactly what I hear in your download - no piano, no guiatar until bar 5. So all seems fine. (Build 907)

I am using it to learn Santana's Europa and just fell in love with that style. There are places where I am playing a solo guitar and attempted to mute.
I have some other matters today but will return to factory settings as soon as possible and see if it solves it.
Yep, weird for sure. Works for some, not for others.
It worked for you with the first 4 bars muted, but was erratic for bars 25?
Are we talking about MY demo now ? LOL - getting confused.
Starting Bar 25 is where the guitar does not mute.
Mike, I downloaded, generated and checked. Both Piano and Guitar tracks played from Bar 1 and both muted on Bar 25, for both choruses. So it worked correctly on this system. But obviously problematic things are happening somewhere

There are two more questions recently.
1. Click choose style similar to... And an error will appear 2. Sometimes, when you double-click the style, the style changes, but BPM does not change. (occasionally, restart will solve it)
If it's convenient, submit these two for me. thank you.

Definitely I have reported the first one, and it has been acknowledged by PGM staff. I'm not familiar with the second one. Can you provide any additional steps? Do you mean to double-click on the style in the StylePicker?

Yes, I agree with Dan. Changing the style for a specific existing song doesn't change the song tempo. However, if you have no song loaded and change styles, it will update the tempo to reflect the tempo of the newly selected style.

Nearly right.
If you have no song loaded (File > New Song) then the BPM will change when you change the Style
But if you have song loaded, the BPM will stay the same when you change the Style.
The difference is whether you have a song file loaded or not.

I don't understand this sentence. Does not load any songs mean that they are not generated? I just clicked generate, and then select other styles, BPM will also change. Whether the BPM changes or not seems random. Sometimes it changes and sometimes it doesn't change. What does not load any songs mean? thank you

Now I see. Create a new song, and BPM follows the style change. If you load a song (open a song), BPM is fixed. I finally understand. Ha ha ha ha
Ya, isn't that what I said? <<said with a big smile >>
Sometimes I can't understand the translated words. Sometimes logic must be stated clearly, including vocabulary. For example, loading songs, I don't understand. But if I say open is a former SGU file song, I will understand. It's not the problem of Google translation, it's my ability, so I need to continue to study hard and make me happy. Thank everyone
Cannot Focus Window issue is not fixed yet in Build 908.
VideoTrack: Can fix the mute problem, which is already very good. Thanks to your immediate submission and the active repair of pgmusic team. But I'll wait for the official release. ha-ha By the way, can the upgrade span? For example, if 904905906 is not installed, can 908 be installed directly?

Unless you are advised that some other update/patch is required first, you should be able to upgrade directly to the latest patch for the current year version, without implementing multiple intermediate releases.

Mike, Charlie and others have reported strange things happening - but only on some user's systems. I'm sure they'll get this sorted. I think I'm going to report this particular thread to the developers... Trev
Bar settings mute invalid - it's back, yep!
Tried WAX.STY Wax Funky Lap Steel Blues
- Solo (Guitar 1) on bar 1 muted, back to normal in bar 2. - Save SGU - Play - Solo (Guitar 1) not muted on bar 1 (F5 shows back to normal in both, bar 1 and 2)
Thanks.
EDIT: Tried another style (FACETED) and I did NOT have the above issue. Weird. Sporadic again just like originally reported.

I take that back... saved the Demo song for FACETED as something else, changed key signature and increased the bpm.
Then I set guitar 4 to mute in bar 1, back to normal in bar 2, saved the song... checked again bar settings - bar 1 for git 4 shows back to normal, so does bar 2. So, I can narrow it down to the actual issue: when muting bar 1 and setting back to normal in bar 2, BIAB does not keep that setting.
Cheers, Mike

For the larger Band-in-a-Box® packages (UltraPAK, UltraPAK+, Audiophile Edition), the hard drive backup copy is available for only $25. This will include a preinstalled and ready to use program, along with your installation files.
Backup copies are offered during the checkout process on our website.

Note: the Band-in-a-Box® keychain is only included with flash drive backup copies, and cannot be purchased separately.
Handy flash drive tip: Always try plugging in a USB device the wrong way first? If your flash drive (or other USB plug) doesn't have a symbol to indicate which way is up, look for the side with a seam on the metal connector (it only has a line across one side) - that's the side that either faces down or to the left, depending on your port placement.

A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."
"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."
"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
