Rewind Me

A new video with a remix of a six year old audio track (the first project Peter joined in with us on guitar). And it now includes Ray on some very cool bass lines. Janice does the “kick,” “snare,” and more on her cajon along with the timbales and few other bits from the RD. We added the handclaps to emphasize that all important reggae third beat.

Thanks to all who take their time to listen and comment. We greatly appreciate you! And more thanks to Peter, Ray and Pg Music (and Bud thanks Janice for appearing in another vid smile )

Tech Department:

Janice: vocal, melody and cajon
Peter: lead and rhythm guitars
Ray: bass
Bud: lyric, audio mix/mastering and video

Vocals: Rodes NT1 > Scarlett 212 > Nectar 3
Percussion: Meinl Cajon (mics front/rear to separate tracks) > Waves CLA Drums
Drums: RD Reggae sw (all kick and snare removed) > Waves CLA Drums
Organ: RT 1159 Reggae sw > Neutron 3 > TruVerb
Piano: RT 1160 Reggae sw > Waves CLA Unplugged
Handclaps: Various loops (thanks floyd) > Waves JPL Percussion

Mastering: Ozone Dynamic EQ > Ozone Vintage EQ > Ozone Imager > Ozone Maximizer > Ozone Tonal Balance > Youlean Loudness meter

Cleverly constructed video for an interesting song. I'm sure it will resonate with anyone old enough to have a past that's worth clinging to. Well done.

Fun video!

Janice does a stellar job on the song.

As usual, a very clean mix, so the reverb on the clap really comes through.

One of these days, I'm going to have to pick up Waves CLA Drums, just to see what they do to the drums. But I know the real magic is Bud, not the VST.

I enjoyed the song and video! laugh

Vocal control, you say. Never heard of it. Is that some kind of ProTools thing?

Nice song and video. The mix sounded awesome through my Sennheiser headphones. Third beat is a new term for me, I'll have to remember that. Good work, gang!

Pretty hip stuff for some older kids...lol I really like all the visual things associated with music. The cajon was cool sounding. The cassette tape motif was a cool idea. Now I need to go back and look at the other videos.

I, too, would like to thank Janice for appearing in another video, and I'm sure I speak for everyone. Man, Ray is so good in so many ways, and his reggae bass is stupendous. Peter's guitar is really quite amazing. What great taste and technique. Man, what a cool video, Bud, and... well, no one mixes better. I love this song --right from the whole idea of it. Well done, everyone.

Enjoy whatever happens!

Hi Janice, Bud, Ray, and Peter,

Very nice reggae melody. I wrote on the site I didn't need a stop- or pause button, only the replay button. But after I found that one my message vanished. So therefore I wrote it here, but not after peplaying that song.
The bass lines from Ray were very cool indeed. Peter's guitar is always quality, like magician Bud's finishing touch!

I only missed the dreadlock wig, Janice!

Hans
I couldn't give any likes, replaying it didn't do anything on the play counter. So it wasn't me telling stories, it's the software...

Hi team!
Reggalicious tune with wild colored and happy video as a bonus. Can't go wrong with reggae, one of my favorite genres to lift the mood. Seems like you had some fun with this one. Excellent tape / rewind theme. Ace playing by Peter and Ray. I think... bass should be a little louder for a reggae tune. Janice, wonderful performance and love that percussion! Bud, super work on putting this together. Enjoyed it! Thank you for sharing.

Misha.

You always produce some of the best music in the entire world.

As usual everything is perfect.

A great listen even though the cassette tape images brought back nightmares!

Loved it!

The Band-in-a-Box® Flash Drive Backup Option

Today (April 5) is National Flash Drive Day!

Did you know... not only can you download your Band-in-a-Box® Pro, MegaPAK, or PlusPAK purchase - you can also choose to add a flash drive backup copy with the installation files for only $15? It even comes with a Band-in-a-Box® keychain!

For the larger Band-in-a-Box® packages (UltraPAK, UltraPAK+, Audiophile Edition), the hard drive backup copy is available for only $25. This will include a preinstalled and ready to use program, along with your installation files.

Backup copies are offered during the checkout process on our website.

Already purchased your e-delivery version, and now you wish you had a backup copy? It's not too late! If your purchase was for the current version of Band-in-a-Box®, you can still reach out to our team directly to place your backup copy order!

Note: the Band-in-a-Box® keychain is only included with flash drive backup copies, and cannot be purchased separately.

Handy flash drive tip: Always try plugging in a USB device the wrong way first? If your flash drive (or other USB plug) doesn't have a symbol to indicate which way is up, look for the side with a seam on the metal connector (it only has a line across one side) - that's the side that either faces down or to the left, depending on your port placement.

Band-in-a-Box® 2024 Review: 4.75 out of 5 Stars!

If you're looking for a in-depth review of the newest Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows version, you'll definitely find it with Sound-Guy's latest review, Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows Review: Incredible new capabilities to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs.

A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."

"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."

"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
