I'm wondering if I'm the only one who has this issue.
I have a multi-screen monitor system in my studio, and it seems that BIAB is the only program I have that I cannot change the default monitor it comes up on. I want to move it so it opens by default in monitor two, but it will only open on monitor one. Every other program, I can drag it to another monitor, then close it, and it will re-open in that monitor. BIAB is the only one that will not change. Is there something in the program that only allows it to open on the default monitor? I can move it to another screen and it works fine, but it just screws with my workflow to have to rearrange every time.
Thanks.

Use the resize method
Sometimes your PC may not be able to detect moving windows (a very unusual case) between monitors. If this happens, the applications will always open on the same monitor.

To get rid of this problem, open the application and resize the window. Make sure it is not enlarged or reduced in any way.

Then move the window to another monitor where you still want to open it.

Now close the application window without resizing or maximizing it again. Then you can open the program on the monitor of your choice without any problem.

Sometimes the program determines whether you can open it on the primary monitor or the secondary monitor. If you think an app always opens on the right monitor instead of the left monitor (for example) and you want it to open another way, you need to set the correct monitor as the primary screen.

Adjust the main display
Press Windows + I to open Windows 10 Settings.
Click on System> Display and then on the Identify button to find the display number of each monitor.
Select the monitor and then check the Make this screen the main screen option.
From there, the apps will open on the main screen.

Thanks for the input, Moultipass.
I tried the resizing thing, and it did not work with BIAB.
Then I tried changing the monitor priority, and it did move. Apparently BIAB only wants to open on monitor 1. It's an unusual quirk, but it seems to be the case. I had forgotten that when I originally set up my monitors, I screwed up the order of them in the system. But it all seems to be ok at this point. I have some layout work to re-arrange now, but at least things are kind of where I wanted them in the first place.
Anyway, that quirk might be something to fix in BIAB.

Dual monitor support would be a welcome addition to BIAB.

It would be nice to have options to select which views would open on a 2nd monitor - for example, I might want the mixer, notation, (whatever), marked to always open on the 2nd monitor.

Use with 2 monitors with BiaB is really the worst in all my applications. It's the ony program that never resizes well in the second monitor using the Maximize / Resize box.

The Band-in-a-Box® Flash Drive Backup Option

Today (April 5) is National Flash Drive Day!

Did you know... not only can you download your Band-in-a-Box® Pro, MegaPAK, or PlusPAK purchase - you can also choose to add a flash drive backup copy with the installation files for only $15? It even comes with a Band-in-a-Box® keychain!

For the larger Band-in-a-Box® packages (UltraPAK, UltraPAK+, Audiophile Edition), the hard drive backup copy is available for only $25. This will include a preinstalled and ready to use program, along with your installation files.

Backup copies are offered during the checkout process on our website.

Already purchased your e-delivery version, and now you wish you had a backup copy? It's not too late! If your purchase was for the current version of Band-in-a-Box®, you can still reach out to our team directly to place your backup copy order!

Note: the Band-in-a-Box® keychain is only included with flash drive backup copies, and cannot be purchased separately.

Handy flash drive tip: Always try plugging in a USB device the wrong way first? If your flash drive (or other USB plug) doesn't have a symbol to indicate which way is up, look for the side with a seam on the metal connector (it only has a line across one side) - that's the side that either faces down or to the left, depending on your port placement.

Band-in-a-Box® 2024 Review: 4.75 out of 5 Stars!

If you're looking for a in-depth review of the newest Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows version, you'll definitely find it with Sound-Guy's latest review, Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows Review: Incredible new capabilities to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs.

A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."

"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."

"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
