When you log on during the day, just this week, a pop-up comes up and has a picture of an operator saying something lke, "contact PG Music sales now." Is this something new or what?

Not sure, and it does not happen here. Or maybe my blockers catch it, not sure.

Later,

Haven't seen that. Could it be a PM from PG Music to you?

Yes, I am getting the same. I assumed it may just be a service PG Music is using. But, in the day of computer hacking and such, it would be great if one of the folks on the PG staff would say it is going on with their knowledge so we know its legitimacy.

I do the same as Bob; I come directly to the forum page. Firefox here.

I'm using IE8 and I come in through the forum login. I've never had a pop up on PG.

Edit.

I just logged on to the BIAB for Windows and got the pop up. It looks legit, but it would be nice for PG to confirm this.

Didn't have pop-up today, I'm glad others have it too. I log on through my favorites in Yahoo. I haven't had a pop up for ages that's why I was curious. Thanks

This is a feature that we have recently enhanced on our website. If you do not require any sales or technical assistance, feel free to select "No Thanks".

Our Live Chat feature is something that we hope will help anyone who visits our site receive the information they are looking for (technical support, sales questions, etc).

I like the idea behind the feature. Thanks for letting us know its legit.

Have never seen the popup, but my popup blocker may just disregard it. I have not seen it tell me that it blocked a popup though!

rharv,

My pop up blocker didn't block it. I always get a sound to notify me that it's blocked a "pop up".

It only showed up when I went to the home page and then navigated to BIAB for Windows.

Personally I think it's a bad idea. Pop ups generally turn people off, especially when they have their pop up blockers turned on and something makes it through. It makes them leary of the page.

It would be better to have a large link on the side of the page that said "Click here for live chat".

That sums up a lot.

1. The ethnocentrism.

2. The superior web marketing skills.

I on the other hand have a new skill set revolving around chemo radiation and drug interaction which causes me to speak my mind even more than usual.

Look in the upper right of this window and you will see a link to live chat. I bet it is cookie sensitive, and stops popping up once registered on the cookie. If you re-login you get a new cookie, which is why I thought that might be a clue.

OK, John, sounds like your personal pop-up censor might be turned down for awhile, and we can expect any kind of comment from you. No problem. Best of luck with the treatment!

The Band-in-a-Box® Flash Drive Backup Option

Today (April 5) is National Flash Drive Day!

Did you know... not only can you download your Band-in-a-Box® Pro, MegaPAK, or PlusPAK purchase - you can also choose to add a flash drive backup copy with the installation files for only $15? It even comes with a Band-in-a-Box® keychain!

For the larger Band-in-a-Box® packages (UltraPAK, UltraPAK+, Audiophile Edition), the hard drive backup copy is available for only $25. This will include a preinstalled and ready to use program, along with your installation files.

Backup copies are offered during the checkout process on our website.

Already purchased your e-delivery version, and now you wish you had a backup copy? It's not too late! If your purchase was for the current version of Band-in-a-Box®, you can still reach out to our team directly to place your backup copy order!

Note: the Band-in-a-Box® keychain is only included with flash drive backup copies, and cannot be purchased separately.

Handy flash drive tip: Always try plugging in a USB device the wrong way first? If your flash drive (or other USB plug) doesn't have a symbol to indicate which way is up, look for the side with a seam on the metal connector (it only has a line across one side) - that's the side that either faces down or to the left, depending on your port placement.

Band-in-a-Box® 2024 Review: 4.75 out of 5 Stars!

If you're looking for a in-depth review of the newest Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows version, you'll definitely find it with Sound-Guy's latest review, Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows Review: Incredible new capabilities to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs.

A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."

"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."

"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
