This is one of the songs that I'll be putting on what is probably my final CD before I take a long break. I produced it before but I thought I wanted more orchestration in the arrangement. It'll just be a filler track but I loved the arrangement I came up with and the Lyrics I wrote. The style had brushes but I added more drums and a Loop to get this shuffle backbeat. Hope you like this laid back 90's style RnB track. https://youtu.be/NrQTeDkudXAStyle: Lounge.STY Lounge Cool Jazz w/Brushes Drums: Real Jazz Smooth Cool Brushes Drums: Real Jazz Snare, HH, Ride Loop: Hip Hop Old School Bass: Acoustic Bass Piano 1: Acoustic, Rhythm 70s Piano 2: Electric Rhythm, Smooth Cool Synth Pad: Pop Modern Groove Guitar 1: Electric Rhythm Smooth Jazz Cool Guitar 2: Electric Rhythm Soul 70s Strings: Rhythm Jazz Ballad Pads Vocal Oohs: Background on the change only and not the Hook Additional Background Vocals (HOOK and Adlibs) all performed by myself. Equipment: The usual, FocusRite Interface, Shure PG-42, iZotope Nectar, Sonar and Sonar Production Suite (Comp, EQ, Reverb, Noise Gate, Antares Vocal Processor Suite.

https://soundcloud.com/user-646279677BiaB 2024 Windows For me there’s no better place in the band than to have one leg in the harmony world and the other in the percussive. Thank you Paul Tutmarc and Leo Fender.

WOW, that was sweet!
Great vocal and an outstanding mix.
This should be on the radio!
If I hear this in a record store I would buy it on the spot.
Loved it
Me, it's not about how many times you fail, it's about how many times you get back up. Cop, that's not how field sobriety tests work.

Hello Henry impressive song Shows once again what is possible with BiaB However, I find that the vocals are a little in the background. It gets a little better during the chorus. But overall the vocals could be more present In any case a great song Many greetings Andi ;-)

You Da Man, Henry, like was said above, it's hard to believe that's BIAB. Puts me in mind of the late Lou Rawls!!

Henry, you sure know how to deliver.
This is sensational. Clearly a big effort goes into your productions.

As bloc-head said, smooth! Nice groove - it moves along through the verses into a catchy chorus. Light and upbeat and sweet - my favorite kind of filler!

Really cool tune. Reminiscent of the golden days of soul music. I like the song. Kinda has an Al Green, Smoke Robinson, smoothness to it, I would say Barry White but his vocals are 2 octaves or more below the way you sang this. Totally quality work.
I'm not a fan of the vocal treatment. Seems to be a lot of high end. And it's a few dB low.... could stand to come up a tad. At 1:37 the BGV seemed to jump out very briefly. Although .... those comments are my opinion. Since I know your skill level, I realize you very likely selected this vocal treatment intentionally as an artistic choice. So feel free to ignore what I said in this paragraph.
All around.... a great job as always.

You can find my music at: www.herbhartley.comAdd nothing that adds nothing to the music. You can make excuses or you can make progress but not both. The magic you are looking for is in the work you are avoiding.

All around.... a great job as always. Thanks Herb. I kinda like the vocal treatment for this type of song but to be honest I think I have ear fatigue so you're most likely accurate in parts of your assessment (though I do like high end). For the first time I've handed off all production mixing of my tracks to a 3rd party so I'll see what he comes up with. Like I said I'll be taking a good break from writing and producing. I was a top tennis and racquetball player for many years and it's finally caught up with me. The Cortisone shots don't work anymore so I'm going in for shoulder surgery next month. Not sure how long the recovery will take. I have a few more songs to finish up then I'm done for a while. Thanks for the comments and I'll be checking the forum periodically to see what's new. Cheers !!

Henry,
This is a sweet sounding R&B/Hip Hop tune! The vocal is wonderful! Definitely radio material with a 70's vibe that still works today for me! Enjoyed it immensely! Thanks, Torrey

Wow, this is a great tune. Well done. You've got a great vocal that works well with that smooth melody. I'm with Project M though, I'd like to hear more of it on the first verse especially.

Band-in-a-Box® 2024 Review: 4.75 out of 5 Stars!
If you're looking for a in-depth review of the newest Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows version, you'll definitely find it with Sound-Guy's latest review, Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows Review: Incredible new capabilities to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs.
A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."
"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."
"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
