much as i love RB it seems to have occasional hissy fits when it will crash a couple of times in quick succession and then behave for months.

i know i can save prefences in BIAB but can i do the same in RB? can't find an option. resetting takes seconds as its so simple but just wondered.............

Bob.
I use realband/biab/reaper combo to do songs.
Frankly i dont bother with save preferences features built into a piece of software..
i save my prefs as custom templates i create.

THUS in rb i create new…then set up my settings then save as template.seq ie..
For example names i might use might be ROCKER.SEQ or BALLAD.SEQ..cos a rocker might have different settings to a ballad.

Or TEMPLATE.SEQ or whatever i want. ..thus in your case you could call
BOBSTEMPLATE1.SEQ. or TWVMIDITENAUD.SEQ meaning a special
Template you created with …basically twelve midi and ten audio traks...whatever floats your boat naming Convention as allowed by win.

above gives me control over settings etc.
essentially my custom templates are blank seq's containing only settings/prefs.

Best/hth
om

In the event of an RB crash, when it reboots it asks if you want to reset settings (usually) .. simply saying no to this one step means you don't have to redo them.

Make your sound your own!
.. I do not work here, but the benefits are still awesome

Hi:
My RB is temperamental at times too. (Half the time I think it's not purely RB at fault, but partly because Windows is trying to keep track of every breath I take). After a few mishaps, I built and saved a .SEQ file called RB Prefs with completely blank tracks and my Options/Prefs settings as selected in RB, not BiaB. As suggested above, after a crash I ignore the 'safely open / reset' suggestion. First thing I do is open my RB Prefs.SEQ file, save it again (despite having done nothing to change it). RB then seems happy enough, so I get back to the composition I was working on when the crash happened. Seems to pacify the beast and only takes 5 seconds to perform after reopening RB on the heels of a technical hiccup or belch.
