Been spending a lot of time on tutorials but can't get the chord wizard to work. Everyone keeps go to file open but there is no open just "open Song" and "open special" please advise, I'm just simply trying to import an mp3 into the chord wizard. Thanks!

Welcome to the forums.
Try this:
1: Choose the Audio Chord Wizard from the Views toolbar.
2: Choose File > Open Special > Open Audio and select your MP3 file.
3: Select the ACW item (also make sure the song tempo matches the MP3 tempo).
4: Select the Audio Track in the ACW.

Is there a place where it could be a hidden menu? It does not show on any ribbon top or inside the program.
Thanks for your help. Pretty much stuck until Monday. Customer service was not sure how to find it and said contact support but with email it takes hours or days back and forth.
One of the things we don't know is what version of BiaB you are running. This is always an important item. There have been changes over the years to menus and settings and other functionality.
I am running 2022, latest available build.

I am running the latest version, I purchased it 6 days ago so I can't imaging a new one has been released but maybe. I did uninstall and reinstall in case it was a corrupted file I know that can happen but still no menu that you mentioned. It was over 500.00 for what I purchased so it wasn't the cheap version. Going to try one more day and search for more videos on how to get the chord wizard and menu's to work.
Is there a pay service to get help on the program? Would be worth the money and avoid the frustration of wasting time searching for email help and trying to explain this way. I know a lot of software companies to not offer phone support only chat....
I tried the updates too and it says your mac is up tp date.

Thanks for any help much appreciated. I know it sounds like awesome software once I can get it rolling.
I reinstalled and mine still does not look like yours but I did find a menu but in a different layout for whatever reason. I still hear two songs in the background, the imported song and another song playing along out of sync and there are 2 different wav length displays instead of one.
Not sure how to get the other one silenced and lined up timing wise.
Not at my PC till Monday but the screen layout ribbon of icons doesn't show ALL of them. Too kany. To the far right of the icons bar/ribbon is IIRC a thin grey area with a down arrow (or similar). That shows the additional icons that are not currently on your ribbon. Maybe thats it? HTH ian

Hi Ian, thanks for the info. That could be I'll look and see if I can find the hidden icons. I figured mac version was different and that's why the example screen shots I got from others did not help. Got to love software.....have to have lots of spare time and patience Lol This software is for retired people with lots of time on their hands to figure it out :-) Have a great Sunday, I'm gonna spend part of the day working on this.
You're right Dan (as usual). That's why I deliberately chose the wording "1: Choose the Audio Chord Wizard from the Views toolbar." Either way, it should have been enough to get the O/P started?

Thanks for the help the last example worked. The views option was not an option. That's the crazy part about software it is not consistent with examples in videos.
Going to try to move to the next step now and try to get that back audio to stop playing along with the mps I imported.
Dan, Thanks so much. A day later and I finally had a way to find that menu. I appreciate that shortcut. This is going to be a long process I'm sure :-) Trying to get the screen to match what these videos say is a challenge. I'm now trying to get the back track to silence so I can listen in the Chord wizard part. I have 2 audio waves playing at the same time. I'm searching for a video now to see how to silence to audio files playing at the same time.

Did you know... not only can you download your Band-in-a-Box® Pro, MegaPAK, or PlusPAK purchase - you can also choose to add a flash drive backup copy with the installation files for only $15? It even comes with a Band-in-a-Box® keychain!
For the larger Band-in-a-Box® packages (UltraPAK, UltraPAK+, Audiophile Edition), the hard drive backup copy is available for only $25. This will include a preinstalled and ready to use program, along with your installation files.
Backup copies are offered during the checkout process on our website.
Already purchased your e-delivery version, and now you wish you had a backup copy? It's not too late! If your purchase was for the current version of Band-in-a-Box®, you can still reach out to our team directly to place your backup copy order!
Note: the Band-in-a-Box® keychain is only included with flash drive backup copies, and cannot be purchased separately.
Handy flash drive tip: Always try plugging in a USB device the wrong way first? If your flash drive (or other USB plug) doesn't have a symbol to indicate which way is up, look for the side with a seam on the metal connector (it only has a line across one side) - that's the side that either faces down or to the left, depending on your port placement.
Update your Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows® Today!
Update your Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows for free with build 1111!
With this update, there's more control when saving images from the Print Preview window, we've added defaults to the MultiPicker for sorting and font size, updated printing options, updated RealTracks and other content, and addressed user-reported issues with the StylePicker, MIDI Soloists, key signature changes, and more!
A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."
"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."
"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
