Could BIAB perfect electronic music? Because most of the content is guitar piano. Although there are some electronic sounds and dance music, it sounds very bad.
Recently I updated the Captain Plugins Epic.
I found that Captain Plugins Epic has a music category. There's a lot of content in there for electronic music. I'm wondering if BIAB can improve these as well. One of the benefits of electronic music is that it can be easily replaced and re-edited.
For example, BIAB is now accompanied by a guitar, although the guitar is also given MIDI, but MIDI is difficult to reproduce the guitar. But if it's a piece of electronic music, then it's pretty simple.
So, since the Captain Plugins Epic has it, why would I wish BIAB had it too? I can use Captain Plugins Epic directly!
Because, BIAB is more convenient to input chords.
Next, is a classified screenshot of Captain Plugins Epic.

I think it is not difficult for BIAB to do this work.
Just come up with a few style packs about electronic music.
Yes, specifically for dance music, electronic music

Hi, I knew someone would ask this question.
Because BIAB is more convenient to input chords.
Another point, CAPTAIN is very slow to open, often crashes, may be the reason for the network.

I don't think BIAB wants to do this very hard.
Just come up with a few style packs about electronic music.
Style packs for dance music, HOUSE music, electronic music, TRAP,
Didn't someone say that BIAB's music style feels too old? I think it's caused by a lot of traditional instruments like guitars, pianos, etc. Of course, I like it too.
Just hoping to add some electronic music style packs. thanks
What do other friends think?

I don't import much MIDI stuff into Band-in-a-Box but I believe Band-in-a-Box can detect MIDI chords from imported MIDI files. Virtual instruments can provide the electronic instrumentation needed to duplicate the audio sound.

The issue would likely be finding a style that has influences to match the electronic music.

If you're requesting electronic music styles then the +++ Styles and RealTracks Wishlist +++ would be a better section to discuss the idea and see how much support there is for the idea.

Captain Plugins Epic can input chords internally.

I still like BIAB's style packs for some modern electronic music.

This is awesome. However, I still hope that BAND IN A BOX can produce some modern electronic dance music style packs.

I look forward to the official release of BIAB's own modern dance music style packs.

"modern dance music style packs"
So is it just midi styles you want or RealTracks RealDrums SuperMidiTracks styles ?
As you can create your own midi styles or modify an existing midi style.

If you wait for PG to do this it might be too old and not what you want as they are not up on this genre of music.
I was going to make an addon for Biab that will allow users to create and use MidiUserTracks as this will give a lot more variations than that's contained in a style that just using C7 chord.

They don't like making, and that's a real shame.
I don't want to use my own, I still like the official style package.
Also, I can create my own using other software.
I just feel that BIAB is currently lacking these.

I have spent over 10 years here making things for Biab that are lacking.
If they do make these styles they need to do it right to get new users.

yes. You have done a lot and that is commendable.
Perhaps the music form that is more popular among young people, BIAB does not have it. It's a pity.
There are too many traditional instruments in BIAB's entire software.
A large number of guitars can make people feel less trendy.
Of course, I personally still like BIAB very much.
As a user, expect more modern style packs.

The first rule for any requirement is that meeting it must be testable.

The Norton Music style discs are MIDI, so the instruments can easily be changed, and many of them are "mix and match", so you can use several substyles, and/or mix different styles, in whatever way you wish.

I've just been listening to the demos on his Style Disc 29 "Smooth Jazz, Fusion & Jazz Rock", which you may well not have tried because it doesn't mention "modern" and does mention "jazz". I think you may find there are styles there that perhaps better suit what you want.

Here's a nice little quote from one of those style demos: """...that Korg called Hip Hop Soul, but Hip Hop no longer sounds like this so I renamed it, ..."""

Music by it's very nature evolves, morphs, changes. It is for us to make those changes. A potential problem with asking BiaB or any other music tool to make those changes is that by the time those changes become stable, music has changed some more.

Some of the example "modern music" song you've linked in the past have had a distinct Latin feel. Perhaps also try exploring Norton Music's Latin style discs.

Some of us here use BiaB to create musical backings that can simply be used for that purpose. It works extremely well in this environment. It is sensationally effective in fact.

Others of us here use it as a tool to generate ideas, concepts and then create compositions that we subsequently take and use in a live environment with other performers.

There is nothing to restrict you from using BiaB to come up with concepts, and then getting your own band together to deliver your music in the exact style that you look for, be it electronic, hip-hop, pop, jazz, rock or other.

Feel free to explore and be creative instead of only relying on a computer program to deliver exactly what you are looking for. You will get great satisfaction from the rewards that can be achieved this way.

Putting in a bigger effort results in bigger satisfaction. I hope you understand that concept.

I agree. With the MIDI side of BiaB I believe that with a little imagination and creativity one can produce any genre of music. I think you are more limited on the RT side of BiaB. YMMV

Me, it's not about how many times you fail, it's about how many times you get back up.
Cop, that's not how field sobriety tests work.

I think that's spot-on.

With MIDI, you have control of everything that's controllable. You can change a Saxophone to a synthesizer, a Rhodes piano into a church organ, or whatever.

With Realtracks, they're excellent for quickly putting together very realistic tracks, but once the pitch and tempo adjustments are done, you're limited to what the musician played and the instrument on which they played it.

Band-in-a-Box does have some Styles available that are good jumping off points for electronic styles such as _DUBSTPP.STY, _DRMNBASS.STY, _DRMNBS, _INHUMAN.STY, and _CHILOUT.STY. If you're looking for something else, you can always request more types of electronic styles and we can add them to the wishlist.

Cheers,

For the larger Band-in-a-Box® packages (UltraPAK, UltraPAK+, Audiophile Edition), the hard drive backup copy is available for only $25. This will include a preinstalled and ready to use program, along with your installation files.

Backup copies are offered during the checkout process on our website.

Band-in-a-Box® 2024 Review: 4.75 out of 5 Stars!

If you're looking for a in-depth review of the newest Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows version, you'll definitely find it with Sound-Guy's latest review, Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows Review: Incredible new capabilities to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs.

A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."

"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."

"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
