Hey Everybody, Bowing to popular demand, we are posting the finished audio to the "Life is Hard" collaboration, which was created during the world's largest BIAB reunion, in April, featuring the BIAB Allstars. The video is at the top of the showcase, and it might make you laugh--we hope it does, because that was our intention. Entertainment with a tad of education. Herb did an awesome job with the music production, and so here it is. Hope you enjoy. (Herb has the tracks listed in his comment on the video post.) I am playing the jangly guitar and the single note lead and Herb is doing all the fancy double lead stuff as only he can do. Hi Andi, Thanks so much! Yes we learned so much from you in our other recent collaboration with you Andi and the "BIAB Super Heroes." See Andi, you taught us that there are so MANY people on the forum with outstanding talent, and a phenomenal knowledge of real tracks, vocal production and mixing. It is not about just one, it is about all of us--that is what you taught, and so we decided to join in with you Andi to show that if you simply LISTEN to the others around you, you will see what is possible, with these glorious friends and a glorious tool. Thanks my friend! And let us do another international hit real soon and may it go quadruple platinum!!! Your faithful student and friend,

Yep, we watched the video a couple of times. And we enjoyed it!
We were wondering what the "undisclosed location" was ;-). Sure looks real American to us ( European folks).
Great job, all of you!

Listening is a good option this time through as I was distracted enjoying the video in the otehr post. The intro reminds me of Jeff Lynn's layering but -not toxic tone sapping like his. It does make me wonder what it'd sound like without the Dylanesqueness - might be a defining Snyder. As presented it sounded good, mix & performances are all solid and work for the song.

We all took an oath to allow that undisclosed location to remain undisclosed... LOL!!
I am using the new 1040XTRAEZ form this year. It has just 2 lines.
1. How much did you make in 2023? 2. Send it to us.

The video is a hoot! Did y’all properly train Eddie so that he now has our Southern drawl too?
It is obvious that y’all had a very good time together and we too are very thankful to PG Music for so many friendships we have made over the last 10 years.
The BiaB Allstars band did great with performance, production and mix on the videography and the song.
Enjoyed it y’all!

Nice to hear how multiple talents get together to use their creativity to produce something unique. Catchy song and words that make me smile. Very good production, I especially like the vocal harmony. Has some Tom Petty vibe.

I hesitated to post on this because I did post the details of the production in the video version.
Let me just say once again that this was a fun project. It was good meeting some new faces and some I had met before. I tend to see David on a fairly regular basis as we are not that far apart and in the same songwriting group on zoom.
It was really cool that several folks drove in from quite a distance to attend. Kinda wish everyone could have stayed longer but life has to go on.
I appreciate everyone who has listened and commented on both the video and the audio post.
Thank you.
Next year.... we've tentatively considered "Herbfest 2" so ....we'll see how that goes. I'm always game for that because I don't have to travel very far.... we'll announce the plans next year if we're going to forge ahead, and maybe more folks can come to it. Wouldn't that be a gas?

Hi David and all your companions,
I enjoyed the video very much, like everybody here. And David, I got a very good picture of what kind a guy you are... It is a miracle a song came out of this. And what a song; very very entertaining.
A very funny and entertaining collaboration! Hans

Floyd,
I read your comment about the song sounding "familiar" and I read WAY too much into it, and was wondering if you were mad at me again.
So, I showed it to Tater Totts, who has been taking some psychology classes for his GED at Pink Hill Community College. This is what he said:
"Mr. Floyd,
"I think I know that ring of familiarity you must be feeling when you heard this. We all have that feeling, when hearing a new song that is so lovingly crafted by masters, that it seems we have heard it for years.
"Songs that remind us of the tunes we once dreamed of writing, as masters of reason and rhyme. Songs that haunt our hearts because we hear the angel’s wings of greatness and grandiosity floating like a butterfly, just so ever out of our reach, as we sit there, hearing the familiar, and yet knowing in our souls, that these great songs should be our teachers, and our spirit guides. "As we listen. As we grow. As we learn. "Thanks for bringing it into the light my friend--your own recognition of the familiarity of genius when you heard this song.
"You are right—it is familiar. The familiar sound of a brand of natural greatness that does not betray its own pretensions. Thank you for teaching us all--and especially me--what I needed to hear myself.”
--vr,
Tater Nashville Totts An American Legend
So there you have it.
I think Tater has become outrageously full of himself these days but who am I to judge??
Your Buddy,
David

The Band-in-a-Box® Flash Drive Backup Option
Today (April 5) is National Flash Drive Day!
Did you know... not only can you download your Band-in-a-Box® Pro, MegaPAK, or PlusPAK purchase - you can also choose to add a flash drive backup copy with the installation files for only $15? It even comes with a Band-in-a-Box® keychain!
For the larger Band-in-a-Box® packages (UltraPAK, UltraPAK+, Audiophile Edition), the hard drive backup copy is available for only $25. This will include a preinstalled and ready to use program, along with your installation files.
Backup copies are offered during the checkout process on our website.
Already purchased your e-delivery version, and now you wish you had a backup copy? It's not too late! If your purchase was for the current version of Band-in-a-Box®, you can still reach out to our team directly to place your backup copy order!
Note: the Band-in-a-Box® keychain is only included with flash drive backup copies, and cannot be purchased separately.
Handy flash drive tip: Always try plugging in a USB device the wrong way first? If your flash drive (or other USB plug) doesn't have a symbol to indicate which way is up, look for the side with a seam on the metal connector (it only has a line across one side) - that's the side that either faces down or to the left, depending on your port placement.

Band-in-a-Box® 2024 Review: 4.75 out of 5 Stars!
If you're looking for a in-depth review of the newest Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows version, you'll definitely find it with Sound-Guy's latest review, Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows Review: Incredible new capabilities to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs.
A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."
"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."
"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
