Almost looks and sounds like the tape is sped up? Even the pitch sounds altered? But what do I know. crazy

I kind of thought that too Dan, but if you look at his body movements, including the movement of his head and hair, they all appear to be fairly natural. I doubt it's sped up, but if it is, some one has done a remarkable job...

Mmmmmmmmmm.....

I don't know. Something ain't right with those hand movements.

I am a guitarist and I know I'm not as fast as him but I have hit sixteenth notes at 260 BPM on occasion, albeit rare.

This would be like 740 BPM. smile This does not look natural. I have never seen it.

I could be wrong, but this seems like video tricks.

Maybe we should ask Steve Vai.

Yes by all means..... lets ask.....
He covers the B3 solo at 2:24 and the guitar solo at 4:20

But his hands and fingers are in sync with what's going on and videoed.

That does not seem to be the case in the other one.

Something just doesn't look right.

Until I can find out more the negates the validity of his delivery, I am erring on the side that another sensational talent might be out there.

The likes of Peter Nero, Oscar Peterson and Michel LeGrand could deliver that same level of competence on a grand piano. Why couldn't a guitarist do similar?

Audio,

I am not trying to negate the talent or his sensational gift man.

I have seen many other videos of him and agree that he is indeed gifted. I may have seen more of his videos that many. I know who he is.

And, I am not saying he can't be as gifted as a piano player, or whatever.

I am simply saying that I play guitar and when my eyes see some of the hand movements in the video, something seems off and out of sync. It does not seem natural in SOME places. It looks like something is off. I may be WRONG. But something seems off to ME.

As a human being with eyeballs, I assume that on a forum post I can say what I am thinking, right? It does not mean I am criticizing anyone.

But yes, he is very talented, no doubt.

Thanks David for your comments. I apologize if any of my comments were unintentionally interpreted as a criticism. That was certainly never intended.

I only mentioned that I was erring on the side that perhaps another sensational talent might be out there.

I never intended that anyone else should share that view, nor to criticize any other persons views.

Free speech is a good thing.

Peace smile

I watched the video on YouTube and set the speed to 0.75. It seemed a lot more natural.....

don't know if its doctored or not.

I know I can listen to stuff like that for about 3 minutes.
Then I must move on.
Not knocking it, just don't care for the sound.
Its too shiny.

What I love about Deep Purple songs is how melodic they were. Great craftsmanship.

The Band-in-a-Box® Flash Drive Backup Option

Today (April 5) is National Flash Drive Day!

Did you know... not only can you download your Band-in-a-Box® Pro, MegaPAK, or PlusPAK purchase - you can also choose to add a flash drive backup copy with the installation files for only $15? It even comes with a Band-in-a-Box® keychain!

For the larger Band-in-a-Box® packages (UltraPAK, UltraPAK+, Audiophile Edition), the hard drive backup copy is available for only $25. This will include a preinstalled and ready to use program, along with your installation files.

Backup copies are offered during the checkout process on our website.

Already purchased your e-delivery version, and now you wish you had a backup copy? It's not too late! If your purchase was for the current version of Band-in-a-Box®, you can still reach out to our team directly to place your backup copy order!

Note: the Band-in-a-Box® keychain is only included with flash drive backup copies, and cannot be purchased separately.

Handy flash drive tip: Always try plugging in a USB device the wrong way first? If your flash drive (or other USB plug) doesn't have a symbol to indicate which way is up, look for the side with a seam on the metal connector (it only has a line across one side) - that's the side that either faces down or to the left, depending on your port placement.

Band-in-a-Box® 2024 Review: 4.75 out of 5 Stars!

If you're looking for a in-depth review of the newest Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows version, you'll definitely find it with Sound-Guy's latest review, Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows Review: Incredible new capabilities to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs.

A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."

"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."

"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
