IMHO, need a lot of work to catch up to other companies' downloaders. the best are from toontrack, spitfire, and plugin alliance.
with the BB one, I followed the instructions and all the packages d/l'd ok, got to the point of "installing" and just SAT THERE.
in the end, I had to manually install all packages.
a waste of my time.
i hope you get at least this right. you guys are way behind the competition in this respect.
the only reason I'm persisting with BB is the fabulous musicians you guys hire for the tracks.
priceless.
robbo.

Not enough information. Are you installing to the default location or to custom locations?

The installer creates a folder named BBDownloads in the root of the /Users/(user name). If this folder cannot be created, the Installer will freeze as described.

If you want the installer files to be downloaded anywhere else, this is easy but not intuitive. Here's how: Create a folder named BBDownloads in whatever folder on whatever disk you like. Specify the path to the folder that contains BBDownloads in the lower left corner of the Installer but do not include it in the path. The Installer will find the new BBDownloads folder, download the files to it, then run them when downloaded.

I have tested this in many locations on my Mac.

I don't think the download folder is the issue. It sounds like the files all downloaded fine. If they are on OS 10.12 or 10.13, then there is a file they might need to download from Apple's website. Not having the file could cause the symptoms described. (Described here: https://www.pgmusic.com/download-manager-mac-help.htm)

Hopefully we'll hear back from the OP.

I'm experiencing the same thing.

The Mac 2022 update files downloaded fine, but have been stuck in the INSTALL mode for over 12 hours with no progress showing.

Does it matter what order I manually install the 6 update files?

Thanks!

I'm running 10.13.6

I've downloaded/installed the Swift 5 Runtime Support for Command Line Tools recommended by BIAB and closed/started the Band-in-a-Box Install Manager and the files are installing now.

hello,andrew,
all due respect, but, your downloader is not on par with most of the other I've used in the past three months.
in addition, I've had to BUY BB2022mac twice now. the original and the audiophile version on the USB drive.
i am waiting on the drive to be delivered. then I'll get back to you on that after I reinstall.
the install I just did has also caused about 60 styles/drums/real trks to disappear from my drive.
mainly in the rock/heavy rock folders - see attached list.
to re-enforce this, all other companies I've dealt with lately?
Toontrack, Spitfire, and Plugin Alliance to name a few - there are no issues or faults with downloading or execution of their products.
regards.

did the same and 60 or so styles/drums/real tracks are missing and I have a glitch in the display when writing in chord symbols.

hi mike,
thx for your concern, but I'm way past all this.
yes, my mac pro is old.
that doesn't seem to be the issue as every other musical type download/installation I do works as expected.
BB is unique in its ability to screw up.
if these glitches are not fixed promptly for me, I'll next be chatting to PG on a lot higher level than this forum.
the only plus in BB is the audiophile quality files.
to wit, a tune I just posted on my YT channel has just exceeded 4000 views, using BB as backing - harp, and drums, mainly.
so, it does have some use professionally for me, thankfully.
a lot of money has been invested in it.
regards,
robbo

Hi Mukamo,

Thanks for confirming. I just found also that the program was not prompting Sierra users to download this file as it should, and this is fixed now.

Hi robbo,

Why do you say you have to buy 2022 twice - please contact us with the live chat and explain your situation, and we can resolve whatever the problem is. Regarding your specific question in this thread about the installer, the solution is likely exactly the same as Mukamo posted above. I'm glad you reported that. Thanks. About the styles in your screenshot, those are styles from the 2022 bonus 49pak.

The Band-in-a-Box® Flash Drive Backup Option

Today (April 5) is National Flash Drive Day!

Did you know... not only can you download your Band-in-a-Box® Pro, MegaPAK, or PlusPAK purchase - you can also choose to add a flash drive backup copy with the installation files for only $15? It even comes with a Band-in-a-Box® keychain!

For the larger Band-in-a-Box® packages (UltraPAK, UltraPAK+, Audiophile Edition), the hard drive backup copy is available for only $25. This will include a preinstalled and ready to use program, along with your installation files.

Backup copies are offered during the checkout process on our website.

Already purchased your e-delivery version, and now you wish you had a backup copy? It's not too late! If your purchase was for the current version of Band-in-a-Box®, you can still reach out to our team directly to place your backup copy order!

Note: the Band-in-a-Box® keychain is only included with flash drive backup copies, and cannot be purchased separately.

Handy flash drive tip: Always try plugging in a USB device the wrong way first? If your flash drive (or other USB plug) doesn't have a symbol to indicate which way is up, look for the side with a seam on the metal connector (it only has a line across one side) - that's the side that either faces down or to the left, depending on your port placement.

Band-in-a-Box® 2024 Review: 4.75 out of 5 Stars!

If you're looking for a in-depth review of the newest Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows version, you'll definitely find it with Sound-Guy's latest review, Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows Review: Incredible new capabilities to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs.

A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."

"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."

"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
