Hello Folk,
the principal reason I purchased 2022 was to be able to use the drum multitracks. The small clutch that came with it are very useful but I'd like access to more as often hihats are too loud or kick drum too clicky in the stereo mixes.
I keep checking the updates and new "Paks" for them but, as yet, nothing seems to have arrived. Is this going the way of the video tracks?

Cheers

I don't think the comparison with VideoTracks is appropriate. All VideoTracks were released at the same time. But there was no promise for more VideoTracks.

Additional drum stems were promised when 2022 was released. Hopefully PG Music will have the opportunity to add more drum stems now that 2022 for Mac is out.

Like you I'm waiting for more stems to be released.

I'm surprised there hasn't been more discussion about the ones released so far. I figured there would at least be some comments about the difficulty of blending so many track into one stereo mix.

I've tried to duplicate the sound of the stereo RealDrums and have sound the task to be fairly difficult. Whoever is mixing the original stems is doing a heck of a job.

LOL I was thinking the same at the time but they seem more popular than VideoTracks so hopefully we'll see more. See how things go, if nothing happens I'll try and make up some more as the good thing is it lets users make their own RealDrums with Stems (just remember to put some Shots n Holds in that PG forgot to do in their Stems)

I concur with Jim.

Perhaps the most effective way you can encourage PG Music to develop more Drum Steps is to make a positive post in the Wishlist. We do expect the company to develop more, as they give us so much more control and were very much welcomed upon release. We should do more now to encourage more to be developed.

There was, to my limited knowledge, no caveat that said this is it, this is the only time, get 'em while they're here. That wouldn't have been a great point of sale announcement.
I had hoped to hop onto the video train when I had a computer up to the task plus the money & version of BIAB to deal with them.
Seems that train left the station, headed down an obscure fork with no turnabout and has settled into the dusts of time.

I guess only PG Music can really answer accurately.
My guess is that more drum stems would be available in the 2023 release.
I have no evidence to support that, it is only a hunch, but the drum stems have proven to be quite popular with many users.

We will be continuing to make more drum stems available in future content PAKs and Band-in-a-Box releases. They have been a very popular feature (and a personal favorite of mine) and we're very excited to continue including them as part of the many Band-in-a-Box features!

Of course not. Sales is all about presenting product and then judging what sells versus what didn't sell. That is the approach PG Music has taken with Xtra Styles, Xpro Styles, Artist Performance Tracks and even, RealTracks. Evidently there is not enough demand for VideoTracks to justify creating more.

VideoTrack sets 1 - 6 are +++ still available here +++ for those that are interested and do not have them.

I'm sure if there is an large demand for more VideoTracks PG Music will offer more.

I went back and found that the VTs are quite cheap now and there's one that MIGHT be useful for my video making so I've spend the $US20 to test it.
I make videos for most songs I create and usually there's no drummer present. I assume I'll be able to cheat on the style section when it comes time to add a drummer.
Thanks for the reminder.

Well Jim,
On your say so I bit the bullet and bought a set of Video Real Tracks for drums on 22nd June.
TODAY, (14th July), the problems that came with VRTs was resolved for me.

After quite a few patch & workaround failures I had to download the ORIGINAL VRT set one and reboot both computer & program. This means I was able to generate a drum video for a recent project - sadly I finished the project and made a video to go with a week ago.
Any future purchase, by someone who doesn't already have VRTs up n running, will require this "fix" though there may be some hope of the Set ONE being bundled with the new set purchase.
Interestingly, & frugally, all of the VRT in SET ONE are crippled and can't be used so no little bonus for me after 24 days of waiting.

BEWARE VIDEO REAL TRACKS until they sort out the problem.

The Band-in-a-Box® Flash Drive Backup Option

Today (April 5) is National Flash Drive Day!

Did you know... not only can you download your Band-in-a-Box® Pro, MegaPAK, or PlusPAK purchase - you can also choose to add a flash drive backup copy with the installation files for only $15? It even comes with a Band-in-a-Box® keychain!

For the larger Band-in-a-Box® packages (UltraPAK, UltraPAK+, Audiophile Edition), the hard drive backup copy is available for only $25. This will include a preinstalled and ready to use program, along with your installation files.

Backup copies are offered during the checkout process on our website.

Already purchased your e-delivery version, and now you wish you had a backup copy? It's not too late! If your purchase was for the current version of Band-in-a-Box®, you can still reach out to our team directly to place your backup copy order!

Note: the Band-in-a-Box® keychain is only included with flash drive backup copies, and cannot be purchased separately.

Handy flash drive tip: Always try plugging in a USB device the wrong way first? If your flash drive (or other USB plug) doesn't have a symbol to indicate which way is up, look for the side with a seam on the metal connector (it only has a line across one side) - that's the side that either faces down or to the left, depending on your port placement.

Band-in-a-Box® 2024 Review: 4.75 out of 5 Stars!

If you're looking for a in-depth review of the newest Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows version, you'll definitely find it with Sound-Guy's latest review, Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows Review: Incredible new capabilities to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs.

A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."

"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."

"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
