The Lonesome Trumpeter

You are sitting under a tree at your cabin over looking the valley. There are no neighbors within 15 miles/24 kilometers. You pull out your trumpet and begin to play imagining you are playing with a full orchestra.

BiaB style = Rendevous - Arpeggiated Ballad
Tempo = 58BPM

I deleted the drum track
Bass - Ample Bass - preset Upright bass
Piano - Velvet - preset MKII
Guitar - Kontakt - xperimental Psaultry
Strings - Kontakt - Amadeus Symphonic Orchestra - preset full string section - note I modified this track to better fit the song

I am playing the trumpet via my wind controller and via my keyboard controller the harp and the chimes.

Me, it's not about how many times you fail, it's about how many times you get back up.
Cop, that's not how field sobriety tests work.

This is peaceful. Mellow for the hot afternoon we have going outside my studio door today in NC.

I have a wind controller for one of my keyboards. That thing is a pain.... glad to hear someone who can actually use one effectively.

Thanx Herb. I think you have a breath controller for your keyboard and not a wind controller. There is a big difference. But remember MIDI editing is your friend!

Pleasant, slightly melancholic and a gentle melody to make it whole.
COOL

Very beautiful and paradise-like melody, nice band, great work with the wind controller and the strings. Enjoyed the chord progression, lonesomeness is softly present in its melancholy. I surely would like to be within 15 miles to hear this moody peace on the stadium of nature.

A beautiful track, Mario. Mellow. Peaceful.

You get a lot out of that controller! A lot of feeling.

Good mix.

Well done.

Thanx Floyd. I'm slowly learning that controller but a lot of work goes into MIDI editing. It's about 80% live and 20% MIDI manipulation.

Superb. One of your very best. Nothing more I need to add. Just superb.

P.S. (yes, there is more I need to add ...): this could be Ennio Morricone or someone. It really is that good. It reminds me in some way of the Cinema Paradiso soundtrack. Bravo.

Soothing and relaxing. Produces lots of Alpha Waves in the brain.

Just what I needed after a long day of programming :-).

Very peaceful indeed...so relaxing...I love the work you do with the wind controller though IMO the trumpet could be mixed a bit louder so we could hear the melody a little clearer but then what do I know...very cool as usual!

A gentle float down a meandering river. Quite lovely.

I miss playing the trumpet. I just don't have the patience or time to get my lip and embouchure back to my heyday.

Mario,

A very serene, calming piece of music that falls softly on the ears. Just lovely! Now if only had a cabin with a tree I can sit under as I listen to this!

Best regards,

Deej

After weeks of record high temps and humidity we can only imagine.

But your vista reminds us of our journeys to the mountains.

As as always your composition, performances and mix are excellent!

Band-in-a-Box® 2024 Review: 4.75 out of 5 Stars!

If you're looking for a in-depth review of the newest Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows version, you'll definitely find it with Sound-Guy's latest review, Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows Review: Incredible new capabilities to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs.

A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."

"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."

"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
