Hi everybody Another collab with my pal John Vaughan. He supplied the lyrics which I added to and subtracted from. The music is pure BIAB with copy and paste. Does it sound clear to you? Guitars 3113, 3196, 3653 Bass 908, Piano 1542, Synth 1543 Drums American sync fred https://soundcloud.com/vic-arnold/want-to-know-what-love-is?utm_source=clipboard&utm_medium=text&utm_campaign=social_sharingWant to know what love is? © 2022 John Vaughan & Vic Arnold V In the light from a window and a warm breeze in the air On the porch after supper in their chairs Holding hands quite contented like that day that they first met Other's charms never tasted No regrets Pre ch. Now he sits there alone looks at her empty chair and longs again to stroke her silver hair Ch. If you want to know what love is Don't take more than you give That is how they started and that's the way they lived Want to know what love is? Just look into the eyes where truth, joy and sadness can abide Inst. V There's a sale sign at the gate and the light is by the moon Then he says to his heart "I'll be there soon". Now the autumn wind's a blowing over grass that's overgrown with the chairs rocking slowly on their own Ch. + If you want to know what love is It's joy and then it's pain and even when it's gone it shall remain If you want to know what love is It's a light that's always lit If you want to know what love is This is it

Hi Vic,
What a sensitive song, beautiful! Nice guitarplay and very good lyrics. I think this is what love is...
I only think you need to sing a bit further from the mike, Vic. The song deserves that.

Vic,
You have such a lovely touch on a song . . . your vocal sounds so J. Cash like . . . warm, earthy and very cool. You’ve done a great job bringing the sweetness of the lyrics to life. I have my headphones on . . . and I don’t think the vocal is too far forward . . . in fact, I’d like it to open up a tad more actually. The only nit for me on the vocal is perhaps the sibilance . . . more noticeable on the laptop than through the headphones. There’s an occasional squeak on the acoustic guitar you might want to dampen, but that’s putting us in real nitty territory. It’s a terrific tune as it stands . . . well done!
Hope all is well in your world,
Deej

Vic, this is a very powerful song about love and it is totally true
The lyrics "If you want to know what love is Don't take more than you give" and "If you want to know what love is It's a light that's always lit If you want to know what love is This is it" is exactly what love is
This is your best to date IMHO
Absolutely loved it
Me, it's not about how many times you fail, it's about how many times you get back up. Cop, that's not how field sobriety tests work.

Deej. You always have something interesting to say. I got rid of the squeaks and, I hope, most of the sibilance. Thank you.

A masterpiece. I'm not exaggerating when I say that this one left me a little shaking by the end of it, and with more than just a tear in my eyes. I'm so happy I stumbled across this one, on here. No criticisms. I don't care what the mix sounds like, etc. ... this song would move anyone, regardless of the production - which, by the way, is indeed very good (for the record). But the song, and your singing of it ... wow. I'm going to listen to it one more time, now, if I can make it through it a second time without shaking and/or tears ... congratulations.

Wow! Never thought I'd have a masterpiece in anyone's ears but it's a nice thought. I can only take part credit for the lyrics though and hand over the other part to John Vaughan, who wrote the original. Thanks Firesong.
