Caesar Has No Shirt! This song is about..., well, I've changed the name, because his name is not worth mentioning, but you might guess... Melodically not interesting, but dance pop usually is quite repetitious. I wanted to showcase that BIAB is an excellent tool to create arrangement also in that genre. The bridge melody is based on a work by a 19th century composer, can you recognize it? I had the original backing track mixed in Adobe Audition years ago, and now when I tried to add latest plugins, it started to crawl. Hopefully the mix sounds decent enough. RealDrums: ModernDancePop RealTracks: #604 Electric Bass #1738 Synth Bass #658 Electric guitar #641, #642 Electric guitar Thrash #1746 Synth Chords #1750 Synth RaveSync #1933 Synth StackedHits #428 Fiddle #2023 Acoustic Piano Mixed in Adobe Audition 2022 Vocals: Synthesizer V Kevin & Solaria Lyrics: Caesar has no shirt riding on a horse everybody knows it's not a tour de force. Face-lift of the worst kind how could he think it's cool? The reins of racing Teslas are laughing at the fool. Caesar Caesar without a shirt Too often without a shirt Caesar has no shirt a shriveled spud Caesar has no shirt a sour Scud Caesar has no shirt pitiful in the coldest blood. Caesar has no shirt posing with a fish everybody sees two carp breams on a dish. He looks like really needy he should have eaten more quite sure his low blood sugar has made him start a war. Caesar Caesar without a shirt... Caesar has no shirt a rifle in his hand we see a psychopath from the hinterland. He dreams to be The Great we will know him as The Small his fathers built his realm he's the father of its fall. Caesar Caesar without a shirt... --------------- Janne

A fun song! The topic...not so funny... Anyway, what immediately piqued my interest was Solaria! Only to find that she was doing the backing vocs I think she's the greatest synth voice to date. May I request a power ballad featuring her on the lead vocal and Kevin as the backing vocal? Rob

Janne,
I couldn’t help but click on a tune called “Caesar Has No Shirt” . . . I was not disappointed. From a production standpoint . . . MAN, you’ve done an incredible job using the vocaloids. I’d be hard pressed to discern a difference from a “live” vocalist. Great mix and feel. Killer dance pop number (and love that guitar solo around 2:30).
All my best,
Deej

Janne, you are a master of synth vocals! They sound real! Super groove, funny lyrics, and an outstanding mix.
Excellent song!

Excellent job, brilliant jab. The shirtless Caesar reminds me of that classic tale by Hans Christian Anderson.
My music may not set the world on fire but if it causes a glow in just one person's heart, it has all been worthwhile

Rob Thanks Rob for your nice comment I fully agree, Solaria is definitely the greatest synth voice at the moment. But Kevin is also very good and the latest updates make them even more real sounding. Hmm I'm currently working on a new ballad, I think I might use Solaria as the lead vocalist, thanks for the request Janne

Wow, Janne! I'm in. What a cool song. You're right, BiaB has so many choices and you made some excellent ones with this. The lyrics are so good. I'd like to hear what the synths would have thought about them. hehe Is it easy working with them? I definitely need a replacement for my songs. I tried and tried, but couldn't get the 191th Century composer. I'm better with the 17th. Anyway, back to this song. I really enjoy your mind and how it spills over your creative craft.

https://soundcloud.com/user-646279677BiaB 2024 Windows For me there’s no better place in the band than to have one leg in the harmony world and the other in the percussive. Thank you Paul Tutmarc and Leo Fender.

This would be a perfect song for a Mel Brooks satirical movie. I kept picturing him and Harvey Korman doing scenes. Kevin and Solaria sound good together again. “He dreams to be The Great we will know him as The Small” We couldn’t agree more. Very creative! Outstanding work with the synths. J&B PS Thanks for not mentioning his name!

Brilliant song. Not my style, I must say; but that only goes to show how good it is, in that it pulled me in and I listened, entranced, despite any stylistic differences. The synth works perfectly, too - great harmonies :-)
Who's the 19th century composer? You've got me stumped, haha.
Well done.

Deej Thanks Deej for your very positive feedback Glad you clicked the tune There's actually not much work needed with the synth voices, just give melody, enter the notes and let AI take care of the rest - maybe just some fine-tuning, at least with this kind of a straightforward song. Janne

Excellent song! Thanks Mario for your kind comment I agree that those synth vocals sound real, too bad that now I'm tempted to use them all the time, because they sound much better than me, which couldn't be said about previous vocaloids. Janne

Thanks Marty for your pleasant comment Mainly it is very easy to work with those synth voices, well there are always some glitches with certain phoneme combinations etc., but as a software programmer I'm used to solve such difficulties Well, the composer is Alexander Borodin, and the melody is variation of Polovtsian Dances, with much faster tempo. I've heard it in a cartoon (Ren & Stimpy I think), that's why it got stuck in my head. Janne

A political parody in disco style featuring humanoid voices! That's quite a lot for one forum post. You did a fine job. I wish I could learn to work with synth voices, but I'm the opposite of a programming type. Dave C has gotten good results with synth voices, but isn't he a programmer or IT guy? I'd hate to spend the money for naught. It's worked out very well for you. Again, nice work!

Thanks for your rewarding feedback I've been a programmer too, but I wouldn't call the work with synth voices programming, although there are similar problem solving tasks like circumventing a software bug. But that is usually a rare case, the most of the work involves just modifying things like vibrato, pitch curve and timing, if you really want to get into details. Janne

Hi jannesan,
Few biab musicians dare to risk electro, especially with biba's realtracks, which are not very suited to this style. You have managed to achieve a pleasant composition to listen to in this style. I appreciated.
Best regard Derochette alias janijackFlash
Kindly regards Derochette alias JaniJackFlash

Best regard Derochette alias janijackFlash Thanks Derochette for your nice review I agree that it is not always easy to build a decent song with only BIAB electro RTs, but combining them with other instruments leads to pleasant results many times. Janne

Janne, Fun (and sad) track. Good job in training your robo singers. Feel of the track reminded me vibe of the band 2Unlimited. Neat composition. I didn't cheat, so truthfully not sure of 19th c. composer that influenced bridge. Will look after finish typing. Good mix and listens very well Thank you for sharing.
Misha.

Misha. Thanks Misha for your positive review The verse melody reminds me of some song, but haven't figured out what it could be. I checked out 2 Unlimited, but it wasn't that, anyhow, thanks for mentioning them. Janne

The Band-in-a-Box® Flash Drive Backup Option
Today (April 5) is National Flash Drive Day!
Did you know... not only can you download your Band-in-a-Box® Pro, MegaPAK, or PlusPAK purchase - you can also choose to add a flash drive backup copy with the installation files for only $15? It even comes with a Band-in-a-Box® keychain!
For the larger Band-in-a-Box® packages (UltraPAK, UltraPAK+, Audiophile Edition), the hard drive backup copy is available for only $25. This will include a preinstalled and ready to use program, along with your installation files.
Backup copies are offered during the checkout process on our website.
Already purchased your e-delivery version, and now you wish you had a backup copy? It's not too late! If your purchase was for the current version of Band-in-a-Box®, you can still reach out to our team directly to place your backup copy order!
Note: the Band-in-a-Box® keychain is only included with flash drive backup copies, and cannot be purchased separately.
Handy flash drive tip: Always try plugging in a USB device the wrong way first? If your flash drive (or other USB plug) doesn't have a symbol to indicate which way is up, look for the side with a seam on the metal connector (it only has a line across one side) - that's the side that either faces down or to the left, depending on your port placement.

Band-in-a-Box® 2024 Review: 4.75 out of 5 Stars!
If you're looking for a in-depth review of the newest Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows version, you'll definitely find it with Sound-Guy's latest review, Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows Review: Incredible new capabilities to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs.
A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."
"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."
"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
