I enter chords go to the select style section, find a style I like. When I go to choose it "OK" is not highlighted, EVER! I can not select or change styles. This is a new install on Win 7, 8gb ram with REAPER.
Thanks for the help.

(is there a hard bound manual)

Thanks
Jack

First, welcome to the forum. Take heart, we'll get it working.

I'm making an assumption this is the first time you are using the program, so I'll make a guess. We may need to work this through with more detail.

The first thing to check is, did you Rebuild the styles? In that same window where you tried to select the style, there is a button near the bottom that says Rebuild. Do that, select Fast, and give it up to a minute to finish. Then see if your style loads.

If not, please give us some detail about your system. Mac or PC? Which version of BIAB and what build (see this in Help, About).

And, we are only fellow users here on the forum. You can call or do a live chat with PG Music staffers by following the Support tab on the top of your browser.

About the manual, you probably found out that the Help menu has the program manual in PDF form and the Index can help you search it. I know on occasion there have been printed manuals offered, and someone else may have info on that. I can say that in almost 30 years, I have rarely needed the printed manual since the PDF version became available, but I do realize some folks prefer the hardbound version.

Thank you so much Matt! I will do that and let you know what happens. You are right as far as me being knew to this set up with Reaper and BIB.
I am on my way out the door and will try your suggestion when I get back as well as list the info you asked about.

Not from PG Music, I think, but see this thread: How to get a printed manual

I had a minute so I ran down to the studio. I can change styles in BIB stand alone. It's when I use the VST3 plugin in REAPER that I can't choose a style. I did do the rebuild.
I'll be back later and call support. frustrating.

Please go to File | Preferences and go to the folder paths. Are these paths correct? If not, please click the "select" button for each to select the correct folders. Afterwards open the Style Picker and click the Rebuild button again.

Jack, I want to be sure this point is clear: You are using the BIAB Plug-in, correct? And the problem you describe occurs using this plugin in Reaper?

This point is important because many of us do not use the plug-in and there is a different forum where you might get better success.

Thanks everyone for the help. I am using the plugin for my DAW. for some reason after rebuilding the styles 4 times, both fast and the long way, the selection function now works.
Go figure. I appreciate the help and hope that as I learn, I am able to help out. you guys are the best!

The Band-in-a-Box® Flash Drive Backup Option

Today (April 5) is National Flash Drive Day!

Did you know... not only can you download your Band-in-a-Box® Pro, MegaPAK, or PlusPAK purchase - you can also choose to add a flash drive backup copy with the installation files for only $15? It even comes with a Band-in-a-Box® keychain!

For the larger Band-in-a-Box® packages (UltraPAK, UltraPAK+, Audiophile Edition), the hard drive backup copy is available for only $25. This will include a preinstalled and ready to use program, along with your installation files.

Backup copies are offered during the checkout process on our website.

Already purchased your e-delivery version, and now you wish you had a backup copy? It's not too late! If your purchase was for the current version of Band-in-a-Box®, you can still reach out to our team directly to place your backup copy order!

Note: the Band-in-a-Box® keychain is only included with flash drive backup copies, and cannot be purchased separately.

Handy flash drive tip: Always try plugging in a USB device the wrong way first? If your flash drive (or other USB plug) doesn't have a symbol to indicate which way is up, look for the side with a seam on the metal connector (it only has a line across one side) - that's the side that either faces down or to the left, depending on your port placement.

Band-in-a-Box® 2024 Review: 4.75 out of 5 Stars!

If you're looking for a in-depth review of the newest Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows version, you'll definitely find it with Sound-Guy's latest review, Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows Review: Incredible new capabilities to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs.

A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."

"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."

"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
