There's No Time on Soundclound
There's No Time on YouTube

Here's one that laments or acknowledges the lack of time. Of course it's a result of all the things that are currently in my life that distract from music. Mine and yours! My priority here is listening to your stuff because I've heard mine so many times, and although I read every comment, I may not get to reply to the last few. When driving I always try to listen to your stuff, too. It's great driving around listening to Floyd Jane, Janice & Bud, and recently David Snyder streaming through the speakers. Of course my favorite is all the Blue Attitude stuff. If anyone else has a channel on Spotify, please let me know.

There's No Time

There's no time like the present to present the lack of time.
Ya gotta get up early on Saturday just to not fall behind.
There's no time for confessions if you've gotta stand in line.
You cannot get things done when there's no time.

We're heading t'ward a future that out does our fantasy,
and we're gonna sing and play all our time away. What a lovely way to be.
We can't begin a new life at the old one's finish line.
It's hard to get things done when there's no time.

BR: Every time I see you I just want to hold you close to my heart,
Maybe Time will free you and we can make the very most from the start.
So then every fight we've ever had will disappear like a pet rock fad,
We could erase makes you sad.
Extra days could make things fine, but there's no time.

I'd like to finally have you push the past a bit behind.
I want to keep you mine, but there's no time.
I'd like to draw the line but there's no time.
I'd push the past behind but there's no time.

Enjoy whatever happens!

If I get the choice then I always first watch the video :-).

Very solid song guys! Excellent vocals. But I have to say that the Hammond organ almost steals the show for me. Those licks, how functional!

Dave always does a great job on the solo. This one is no exception (and comes really close to UFO's Michael Schenker's sound!).

Marty you had me from the 1st measure!

Great collaboration.

Strong vocal in an excellent mix.

Loved it.

Me, it's not about how many times you fail, it's about how many times you get back up.

Now that was fun! Great song. The organ was cool, and you really rocked the bass. Another clever wright. I really liked that line of every fight disappearing like a pet rock fad. Picked some good rhythm instruments too and the lead guitar was top notch. Never knew the blues could make you so happy!

Cool song Marty,
I would venture that the rhythm guitar seems either too far panned or too loud but that is looking for nits.
Your songs & voice make me want to see/hear you in a nice small blues bar.
Bell wrings another good one from the neck (sorry - bad pun).
Thanks for the warmth.

Cheers

Marty...another very cool song...smart lyrically and a great blues groove...but do you actually mean that my pet rock (Petra) is out of vogue...oh well...other than that obviously bigoted line...nice song...you and Dave are a formidable pair to say the least...how do you keep coming up with these great concept tunes? and I love the video but you know that... what you don't know is so did Petra...you feel bad now...don't you!!

Marty ...

Love these relatively slow shuffle blues. It's just a slow, steady swing that feels so graceful. You and Dave have given us some terrific music since ya'll got together.

Super song and Dave's playing was spot on - isn't it always!!??

Cool concept and perfectly executed on all fronts. Nice!

Alan

Me, too, Rob. Thanks. Interesting that you mention the B3. I always think of Dave as the main interest in the song, and now I'm thinking maybe the organ is detracting from that. I agree that it so good though, and may overuse it or leave it a bit too high in the mix before getting Dave track. Thanks, I'll be more vigilant.

Thanks, Mario. That's why it's a good idea to start off with a guitar into. wink

Hi, Brad! The blues has made me happy since I was a little kid hanging out in my uncles nursing home boiler room with the coolest janitor ever. It was always best when one of the orderlies came in to blow harp. They were always their happiest lost in the blues.

Thanks, Ray. Keep looking. I thoroughly appreciate your ears and taste. Nits like that are the very things that distract the mind. They eat earworms.

Marty,

A good write. A BUNCH of good lines...

"There's no time like the present to present the lack of time.
Ya gotta get up early on Saturday just to not fall behind."

....knock me over.

This is the BabuMusic signature sound.
That vocal that speaks-to-the-listener.
That Buttery Bass keeping a solid rhythm.
That BlueAttitude guitar lifting it higher.

Good video. Good mix.
A song to listen to while driving (put it on your list! smile )

I had forgotten about this little gem, it was a while ago that I did the guitar for it I think.

Excellent song, so well written as per usual!

Thanks to everyone that mentioned my part, it was a fun song to play on.

Ah, my sensitive Dan. There is no intended slant on your relationship with Petra. It was the fad that faded. My Smokey Stoner and your Petra should meet.

Marty, you had me from "I love David Snyder."

No man, just kidding. Ha ha.

Really, this is blues at its best and you guys are the blues champs in my book. But, come to think of it, there are a lot of blues champs on this forum.

ANYWAY, you guys are AMONG the elite crowd of blues champs both here and on the Internet in general.

I love this stuff man.

Firstly with J&B a good shuffle is tough to beat!

“It's hard to get things done when there's no time. “

And yet it seems like we have more time to do things BUT the time is going by too quickly to do them. wink (Bud here: I'll credit Janice with that Zen like contradiction!)

We like how your lyric addresses the issues of our lack of and inevitability of time.

Excellent vocal, smooth bass (Bud says he wants to play like that when he grows up), Dave’s nice, fat tone on his guitar and a great choice of BiaB band mates.

How did you find the time to make that video? As always cool imagery supports the lyric and that's what it's all about!

Very timely indeed!

J&B

Band-in-a-Box® 2024 Review: 4.75 out of 5 Stars!

If you're looking for a in-depth review of the newest Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows version, you'll definitely find it with Sound-Guy's latest review, Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows Review: Incredible new capabilities to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs.

A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."

"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."

"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
