Hey guys...I love to compose an instrumental every now and then but I have a hard time titling them...so...What I need from you is a good title for this piece...so if you listen and feel the urge just throw back to me a thought or idea for the title...I appreciate it and may just choose one...it's no big deal...except that this melody will own the name forever (or until I change it to something else) smile...all comments and suggestions are welcomed...so...if you do...thanks for listening...Dan

Dan, I really like this.
After the first 4 bars or so Butterfly On The Wind came to mind.

For me there’s no better place in the band than to have one leg in the harmony world and the other in the percussive. Thank you Paul Tutmarc and Leo Fender.

Pretty melody Dan. The thought that came to my mind while listening was "Beside still waters."

What a beautiful and atmospheric instrumental!

However, it's slightly long. I would trim it to a maximum of about four minutes?

"Following" is the first that came to mind.

Hello Dan ...

As you know, 90% of what I post is instrumentals. And I have the same problem. This is simply gorgeous. So well done!!!

The title that came top me was "A Long Way From Home".

Beautiful in every way. Congrats on a song well-done.

Alan

Hi Dan
What a beautiful song
The melody is just awesome
The song fits very well in today's time.
The joy of life is for many people on our planet no longer or only to a small extent.
Music can help a little to give people hope for better times.
The hope is the decisive step into a better time.
My suggestion for the name of your song would therefore be:
THE POWER OF HOPE
Many greetings
Andi ;-)

Hi Dan,

When I saw this was an instrumental I was initially disappointed because I absolutely love your voice!

But you nailed it, love the melody the violin is playing, so powerful and emotive.

Sorry, can't help you with a name, I'm hopeless at that sort of thing smile

Lovely!

"All The Way" were the words I heard when the violin came in with the melody. Love the melody, by the way, and your surrounding instruments are so good. The song is lifting --very lifting-- all the way. Such a good job of counterpoint melodies intertwined with the main one. "All The Way" or "All The Ways."

Came back for another listen, and I second thought I'm sticking with it, Dan. Or you could call it "Rose" because it always sounds so sweet.

A beautiful piece, Dan.

(So I'd call it "A Beautiful Peace")

My thanks to everyone who submitted a thought and especially a title suggestion...there were some great ones so far...let's review...Butterfly on the Wind, Leaving the Highlands, Beside Still Waters, A Long Way From Home, The Power of Hope, All the Way and A Beautiful Peace...Wow! these are all great...they are all so cool and even profound...I think I'll compose a tune for each of them...by the way I had initially called the tune "Mystery" and now it's a mystery which one I'll choose...BTY if anyone else wants in...I haven't made up my mind but I'm leaning toward one of them...this is exciting, right? Stay tuned!!

Outstanding instrumental

Simply extremely beautiful

I would call it "Alone with my Thoughts".

PS - I know for a fact that naming instrumentals can be very challenging!

I pictured a camera speeding across the ocean onto a beach and then soaring high above cliffs and meadows and finally passing among majestic mountain peaks.

"Mountains Of Stone"

Oh well, just my 2 cents worth. I am a big fan of instrumentals, I like empowering listeners imagination with music. Nice piece, I liked it.

Nice.

I like the tone of that lead violin. What did you use? I saw Geno but have no clue....

Also I think the lead violin is a bit too loud. Back it off a few dB to let it sit into the mix a bit more comfortably.

The Band-in-a-Box® Flash Drive Backup Option

Today (April 5) is National Flash Drive Day!

Did you know... not only can you download your Band-in-a-Box® Pro, MegaPAK, or PlusPAK purchase - you can also choose to add a flash drive backup copy with the installation files for only $15? It even comes with a Band-in-a-Box® keychain!

For the larger Band-in-a-Box® packages (UltraPAK, UltraPAK+, Audiophile Edition), the hard drive backup copy is available for only $25. This will include a preinstalled and ready to use program, along with your installation files.

Backup copies are offered during the checkout process on our website.

Already purchased your e-delivery version, and now you wish you had a backup copy? It's not too late! If your purchase was for the current version of Band-in-a-Box®, you can still reach out to our team directly to place your backup copy order!

Note: the Band-in-a-Box® keychain is only included with flash drive backup copies, and cannot be purchased separately.

Handy flash drive tip: Always try plugging in a USB device the wrong way first? If your flash drive (or other USB plug) doesn't have a symbol to indicate which way is up, look for the side with a seam on the metal connector (it only has a line across one side) - that's the side that either faces down or to the left, depending on your port placement.

Band-in-a-Box® 2024 Review: 4.75 out of 5 Stars!

If you're looking for a in-depth review of the newest Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows version, you'll definitely find it with Sound-Guy's latest review, Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows Review: Incredible new capabilities to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs.

A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."

"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."

"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
