I respectfully disagree. If you record your vocals, you can go to the FX area and select Input Monitor as the track input. This gets tricky but can be done.
In your Audio Preferences you have to be using ASIO as the driver type, and then enable a couple options depending on whether you just want to hear the effects while singing, or if you also want to record them. Top Image
Then select Input Monitor as the source (second image) to use it.
Further settings are determined in your Audio Interface, but it can & has been done.
The below is from page 253 of the User Guide (Manual) for my version.
Quote:
Enable Input Monitoring (ASIO Only) When this checkbox is enabled in the Audio dialog (and ASIO is selected in the Driver Type combo) then PowerTracks Pro Audio will take the ASIO input signal from input port number 1 and send it to output 1 so that you will hear the input through the speakers. You can apply real time effects to the monitored input by selecting “Input” in the top combo box of the DirectX/VST Real Time Effects dialog. You can then select up to four DirectX or VST effects. WARNING! - Do not enable this feature if the input port number 1 is set to record the output (e.g. “What you hear” or “Mix”) because enabling input monitoring in this case will cause massive feedback that could hurt your ears! When Allow IM effects recording (ASIO only) is enabled, and Input Monitoring is enabled, and effects plug-ins are enabled for input monitoring, the effected signal will be recorded instead of the dry signal

Make your sound your own! .. I do not work here, but the benefits are still awesome
another 2 options. 1..talk to your local store that sells usb interfaces with on board dsp features. maybe your current interface doesnt have this feature. check . what brand is your interface…?? if your current interface doesnt have this feature. just tell your local store …. 'you want to record your vocs dry but have an interface that lets you add reverb while recording dry'.
some more costly interfaces have lots of dsp features. i hesitate to recommend due to rapidity of tech change. heres an article for reading ….
advantage of on board dsp is that the interface takes the processing load. best bet is to rent before buying from your local gear store and see if works well with your pc recording set up.
2..a easy peasy cheapie way is something ive done many times in powertraks n' realband.. record a 'scratch vocal' then add pg reverb and balance to taste tween wet/dry. this will give you a 'base reference' for now recording the final vocal. i used to do this recording vocalists/bands in my recording rigs in the past that were 'nervous' bout their first traks. its an old studio trick to instill confidence in clients.

For the larger Band-in-a-Box® packages (UltraPAK, UltraPAK+, Audiophile Edition), the hard drive backup copy is available for only $25. This will include a preinstalled and ready to use program, along with your installation files.
Backup copies are offered during the checkout process on our website.

Note: the Band-in-a-Box® keychain is only included with flash drive backup copies, and cannot be purchased separately.
Handy flash drive tip: Always try plugging in a USB device the wrong way first? If your flash drive (or other USB plug) doesn't have a symbol to indicate which way is up, look for the side with a seam on the metal connector (it only has a line across one side) - that's the side that either faces down or to the left, depending on your port placement.
Update your Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows® Today!
Update your Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows for free with build 1111!
With this update, there's more control when saving images from the Print Preview window, we've added defaults to the MultiPicker for sorting and font size, updated printing options, updated RealTracks and other content, and addressed user-reported issues with the StylePicker, MIDI Soloists, key signature changes, and more!
A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."
"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."
"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
