One more from me, and that's going to be about it for a while, I think ... my schedule is getting fuller, unfortunately - so no real time to write :-( But ... I hope this one is worth it? See what you think - thanks for listening and for any comments! Pyrrhic Victory LYRICS: I think each night of you, each day, And wonder how you've been, You always have nothing to say, And walk away from me. And this, today, tomorrow, so ... I wonder what is wrong ... Instead of tryin' to talk, therefore, I'm writing you this song. Don't let our love be a pyrrhic victory When you decide our fate, Don't let your soul wait too long on this, you see, When things you ruminate ...
Don't let our hearts question what may be, Oh, please don't hesitate ... Don't let our love be a pyrrhic victory, Don't let it be too late. It's coming up, today, the day, so brief, Of our first hug and kiss, I sigh and softly question if Our love you ever miss. But life is short, and we're not young ... So much has ceased to be Since we last hugged and cried, among The trees, the mist, the sea. *** So if I have a prayer for you, A prayer I hold true, It's simply this I say to thee, Please don't forget it, see ... Don't let our love be a pyrrhic victory When you decide our fate, Don't let your soul wait too long on this, you see, When things you ruminate ...
Don't let our hearts question what may be, Oh, please don't hesitate ... Good to hear you sing another one. Although the vocal was a bit overpowering through my speakers and may be better a little lower. Nice music too, but I might try to put some reverb on the sax. I hope your break isn't too long, so that we can hear more of your music.

Thank you so much Brad, so nice of you to say that about my music. I'll have a listen again for the vocal and the sax. Although I just worry that, if I put too much reverb on the sax, it sounds too much like romantic music, and I wanted to keep this relatively pure, on the surface, at least ... i.e. like a swan who looks so elegant above the water, and its feet paddle so fast and furious underneath (the "furious paddling" being the emotion underneath the seemingly serene aspect of the song, of course). But ... I will listen again, for definite! Thanks again for listening and for commenting!

I agree with Brad. In addition, you might want to put a subtle reverb on the vocal as well.
Apart from that, very nice song!

James,
Always good to hear one where you sing. I'd agree with the reverb comments.

James excellent vocal and lyrics.
I also agree about the reverb on the sax and vocal. You also might want to lower the vocal volume a tad or two.
Great chord progression!
Two thumbs up.
Me, it's not about how many times you fail, it's about how many times you get back up. Cop, that's not how field sobriety tests work.

James,
This track has a great sound! You did a super job arranging these Realtracks! Once again, it's great to hear you sing one of your tunes! Hopefully you'll find some time to devote to your music and we will watch for your return!
Take care, Torrey

Rob: thanks. I will see what I can do about the reverb thing!
floyd: thanks. Kind, as usual.
Mario: thanks so much. See, I don't listen to my songs on speakers - on headphones, the volume levels sound fine to me - but everyone who's listened to it on speakers has said the same thing. I'd love to reduce the volume of the vocal track, etc., therefore - but on my headphones the balance sounds fine, so ... how do I do that? I can't do it "blind", so to speak ... argh :-)
Torrey: thanks! I was going for an ABBA-ish sound, minus their trademark effects, of course ;-) Thanks for such nice words!
Ed: wow. Thanks! So kind, as usual. Let's see where the journey takes me next - wherever that may be, it's a privilege and a pleasure to share my musical efforts with everyone on here. And, of course, without PG Music's wonder software, none of this would be happening, so ... :-) Thanks again for such incredibly kind words.
Andi: thank you!
Ray: hahahahaha. I did wonder about actually using that word, but it's intrinsic to the theme, so ... :-) Thanks for your wonderful words of encouragement!
Again, thanks to each and every one of you for listening and for commenting. Let's hope it won't be too long before my next song ... I want and need to take a break, but one never knows with these things. Anyway, I'll be here, listening, in any case :-)

Love it!!

Thanks, Marty. I will do my best to be back as soon as possible, but I both want and need a break ... and, to be honest, I've got an idea for the next song, but it needs to be done properly ... i.e. I (and it) need time for it to work. That said, I will be around to listen to everyone else's songs, of course! Your "pyrrhic" comment made me smile. Keep creating and thank you for your absolutely wonderful support, with all of my attempts at songs :-)

Some of the notes you sang were quite nice, so I would say this is a real step up! Still basically talky, but overall not too bad. (Better than I can sing). Your perseverance is paying off. And the song is real nice! Sometimes there are too many notes in a line, but overall it was really good! Keep it up!
