Then there's the story of the guy who fell asleep only to wake up to his dog chewing off his toes.

I sleep heavy but not heavy enough to not feel my toes being chewed off. I think some alcohol might have been involved.

I would hope alcohol was involved! That would take a good bit of drink I think!

My wife asked if I had seen the dog bowl. I told her I didn't even know he could.

That's a joke I have told for years. As I walk my dog at the park, I enjoy the happy company of my best buddy. The same best buddy who, if faced with a dead me and nobody to feed him, will eat me to stay alive.

On a serious note, I have an app called Snug. If I don't check in every morning by 9am, an email goes out to 3 people who in turn will know to call me, and then the police if I don't answer. So, Chunk will not miss a meal...

I am using the new 1040XTRAEZ form this year. It has just 2 lines.

Well, I know my neighbors at the ranch, but they are far away. In general, ranchers look out for each other. Live stock sometimes gets loose and people need to be told.

The neighbors on the street of my new house (wife's new house...lol) in town are very friendly. Three or four have come by to welcome me to the neighborhood.

The kid down the street wants to learn some guitar. I guess I get volunteered for the job...lol

That and I doubt another human could tolerate me for more than short periods at a time. I have been on my street for almost 18 years and I only know 4 of my neighbors.

No pets at all for me (except Mrs. Notes). We like to travel, and to leave one behind for a month or so every year isn't fair to the animal.

I live on a dead-end street, and I know everyone who lives on this street. We all get along, even those with opposite political/religious views. We have an active crime-watch, one of the retired guys logs the license of every vehicle that comes up the road, a couple of others have cameras, and in the 30 years I've been here, only one burglary has been committed, 3 neighbors called the police, and the thief was caught in less than a half hour. He ended up with over 20 years in jail as a plea bargain. He was wanted for quite a few others.

In times of stress, we help each other out. After a hurricane, it's common to see water hoses (we all have wells) and extension cords all over the neighborhood. Those with water helping those who lost prime, and those with generators sharing power with others.

Thanks to the snakes, bobcats and foxes, we don't have rats, and since I'm 32' above sea level (The Florida Alps) the only fish we have up here are either bought at the market, or shared by a neighbor who likes to go fishing a lot.

I like it here.

Billy

A former neighbor of mine wanted to play saxophone. I volunteered. She progressed to pretty good when she moved to New Orleans. She had good talent, but was still challenged by the technical aspects of the horn.

We've kept in touch through the years, and she eventually played in the New Orleans Jazz and Heritage Festival as a member of the Rockie Charles band.

She is a fine-art artist (I have a couple of her works) and her new musical passion is violin. I have my father's violin, but can't even get a decent squawk out of it.

Good luck teaching the neighbor. I hope it's a joy for both of you.

The Band-in-a-Box® Flash Drive Backup Option

Today (April 5) is National Flash Drive Day!

Did you know... not only can you download your Band-in-a-Box® Pro, MegaPAK, or PlusPAK purchase - you can also choose to add a flash drive backup copy with the installation files for only $15? It even comes with a Band-in-a-Box® keychain!

For the larger Band-in-a-Box® packages (UltraPAK, UltraPAK+, Audiophile Edition), the hard drive backup copy is available for only $25. This will include a preinstalled and ready to use program, along with your installation files.

Backup copies are offered during the checkout process on our website.

Already purchased your e-delivery version, and now you wish you had a backup copy? It's not too late! If your purchase was for the current version of Band-in-a-Box®, you can still reach out to our team directly to place your backup copy order!

Note: the Band-in-a-Box® keychain is only included with flash drive backup copies, and cannot be purchased separately.

Handy flash drive tip: Always try plugging in a USB device the wrong way first? If your flash drive (or other USB plug) doesn't have a symbol to indicate which way is up, look for the side with a seam on the metal connector (it only has a line across one side) - that's the side that either faces down or to the left, depending on your port placement.

Band-in-a-Box® 2024 Review: 4.75 out of 5 Stars!

If you're looking for a in-depth review of the newest Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows version, you'll definitely find it with Sound-Guy's latest review, Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows Review: Incredible new capabilities to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs.

A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."

"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."

"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
