Probably not in my lane but wth, biab can do that to you.
I've mostly made backing tracks but this is first original
Suggestions appreciated! Thanks

Oh, yeah!! Welcome to the Showcase forum, Mark. Much welcome. Love the blues. Well sung and a good feel in the vocal. Yeah, I've used BiaB for years just making demos for others. Are you also playing any instruments in there? [Helpful hint: At the heading of the Showcase there are some suggestions for posting some info with your song. Follow it or not, I'm just happy to listen to the songs, but it's often helpful to know what went into the mix.] I like how your YT channel is progressing too. Very helpful for folks who just want to play along to good blues progressions.

Great use of BIAB, Mark! Your lyrics are simple (compliment, btw) and fits the blues really well. Great job.

Welcome to the Showcase, Mark.

Blues always works for me, and you have a good voice for that genre.
Arrangement and mix are also good, my only minor complain would be that it's more or less mono.

But I can live with that smile

Thanks Marty, for the comments and suggestions here and on Youtube. I will remember to post song info - I agree it's interesting to know while you listen. I'm an electric bass player used to collaborating with guitar players on home recording, but lately it's hard to make that happen. So, this is all BB real tracks with me on vocals, recorded and mixed in reaper.

Thanks again man - I will check out your links

Hi Mark ...

Welcome to the forum. That;'s a real nice song with which to introduce yourself. It's hard to beat a 12 Bar Blues!

I like the simple arrangements of most Blues songs. They're intent is to tell the story and not amaze the listener with a lot of frills. And you did that perfectly. The organ was really a strong choice - loved it!\

You have a really nice voice. Good job in all aspects. Thanks for a terrific listen! Will wait to hear more from you. I've been here a little over 11 years and don't regret a day of it.

Wishing you the best ...

Alan

Good blues, your voice reminds me a bit of David Bromberg. I was jamming with it, F is the best key for harp players IMHO and I will take any opportunity to play in it. Thanks for sharing!

Thanks man! I appreciate it.

I haven't listened in speakers, so you are probably right about sounding mono. Nothing panned past 25 and tbh I'm still getting a grip around creating 'depth' while mixing. Thanks for the heads up and the feedback.

Thx for the warm welcome Alan. This is my first attempt at BB original and I wasn't sure it was a good idea to post. I really appreciate your comments!

Welcome Mr Mark the Bassman.
There are one or two other bassists in here...Marty, Thumper etc.
This is a nice, uncluttered 12 bar with a very tidy and well suited vocal.
Good one.
Lots of collaboration happens in here so put the feelers out if you're interested in what someone does.

Ray, I appreciate the listen and comment. Making music without other players involved is definitely "the fallen tree in the forest". Would be nice to fix that

Hey there Mark, great to have you on the forum. Judging by this beauty I'm looking forward to hearing more from you. I've not played the blues before, but I like them - and I think you'll find a few of them here are really good at it. I may to start picking it up myself. Really nice sound.

Welcome to the Showcase, Mark! We love the blues and your song sounds great.

Your voice has a rich timbre that sounds like a cross between David Bromberg and James Taylor. smile Unbeknownst to lots of folks JT is a fine blues singer.

The band and mix sound really good on our monitors.

Enjoyed it!

The Band-in-a-Box® Flash Drive Backup Option

Today (April 5) is National Flash Drive Day!

Did you know... not only can you download your Band-in-a-Box® Pro, MegaPAK, or PlusPAK purchase - you can also choose to add a flash drive backup copy with the installation files for only $15? It even comes with a Band-in-a-Box® keychain!

For the larger Band-in-a-Box® packages (UltraPAK, UltraPAK+, Audiophile Edition), the hard drive backup copy is available for only $25. This will include a preinstalled and ready to use program, along with your installation files.

Backup copies are offered during the checkout process on our website.

Already purchased your e-delivery version, and now you wish you had a backup copy? It's not too late! If your purchase was for the current version of Band-in-a-Box®, you can still reach out to our team directly to place your backup copy order!

Note: the Band-in-a-Box® keychain is only included with flash drive backup copies, and cannot be purchased separately.

Handy flash drive tip: Always try plugging in a USB device the wrong way first? If your flash drive (or other USB plug) doesn't have a symbol to indicate which way is up, look for the side with a seam on the metal connector (it only has a line across one side) - that's the side that either faces down or to the left, depending on your port placement.

Band-in-a-Box® 2024 Review: 4.75 out of 5 Stars!

If you're looking for a in-depth review of the newest Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows version, you'll definitely find it with Sound-Guy's latest review, Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows Review: Incredible new capabilities to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs.

A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."

"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."

"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
