Here's a list of different ways Band-in-a-Box can manipulate or mute audio volume. For simplicity, the list excludes the Delete command, the global Band-in-a-Box mixer settings, the F7 Settings and Actions Dialog window, Preferences and any similar features or dialogs.

Audio Edit Window
1. silence
2. amplify (+ or -)
3. normalize (+ or -)
4. fade in
5. fade out
6. Cut-X
7. insert silence
8. volume automation (+ or -)

Audio Menu
Plug in
1. (09) Gain Change (+ or -)
Audio Edit
1. (10) Erase audio chorus dialog window
2. (11) Erase region of audio
3. (12) Adjust volume level of audio track (+ or -)
4. (13) Insert silence in audio track

Legacy Bar Settings Dialog Window
1. (14) Volume Changes Column with 5 presets (+ or -)
2. (15) Insert silence in audio track (RealTracks only)
3. (16) Style Change

Main Chord Sheet
1. (17) Part Markers
2. (18) Rests, shots and holds

I prefer Utility Track volume controls over Legacy Track volume controls because there are many additional tools to select from as well as more precise and accurate results like making a + or - 3db adjustment to a small region up to an entire track using the Audio Edit tools rather than the coarse and vague presets available from the Bar Settings Menu (F5).

Users familiar with audio editing in a DAW or audio editor like Audacity will see that BIAB's tools are very similar to what they are already use to. Editing from the BIAB program avoids exporting and importing tracks and also provides instant feedback to volume changes between other tracks in the project while also retaining access to all of BIAB's flagship features.
