After consolidating a whole track parts of it disappear and do not come back after undoing consolidation. This is a new glitch I have not run into before. Also I am wondering if it is necessary to consolidate before rendering to a wave file? I have installed version 2022 but if I click on a PT file it opens in the 2020 version. 2022 is on my desk top and I can open it then open a PT file in it. Should I uninstall the 2020 version not sure if this part of the problem? I am using windows 10

I had the disappearing parts of tracks a long time ago but with RealBand. Have never consolidated a track since. as to the 2020 version opening files right click on the file and choose open with PT 2022 - seq files are still set to open with the old program. If its the same as RB PG leave the 2020 version on your PC because its 32 bit and some people like to use 32 bit plugins. 32 bit plugins don't work with 64 bit programs unless you use jbridge but it doesn't always work and some older plugins just get lost when you move to 64 bit.

Some RB users work in 64 bit then open their seq files in 32 bit, use the plugin they want and then save and open in the 64 bit version after the track has been changed by the 32 bit plugin and rendered to a wav file.

As Bob alluded to, make sure PT is opening the desired program (newer version).
That's the first thing I'd try.
An issue with a version a couple versions old also begs the question; is that 2020 version running the latest updates for that version?

Again, as Bob mentioned, I do sometimes use an older version for access to certain 32 bit plugins, but I make sure it is the latest supported version.

/link was kind of hard to find .. but may help for the 2020 version .. preferable would be to make the shortcut use the newer version unless you need an older version for some specific reason (like 32 bit)

I tried opening the file in PT 2022 and still had the same thing happen -random parts of the track dissapear after consolidating- I would like to add some effects and fades and from what I understand. I cannot do that to sections that are not continuous.

I thought saving the track to a wave file might work, but when I loaded it in the SEQ file I am working with it doesn't line up with the rest of the file. Its like in some spots it gets ahead of the time and other spots it lags behind, so that is weird. Could this be because of different bit rates?

That or mismatched tempo between the original SEQ file and the WAV

Another possibility; try saving the original SEQ file as another name.
Then open that and try consolidating.
Maybe something got corrupted in the original SEQ file.

Already tried that. No luck. I emailed support. I hope they can help. I have a feeling I am going to have to reinstall powertracks.

Re-installing PT is a pretty painless process .. I'd probably try that now rather than wait ..
Worst case scenario is you have to set up some preferences again

The installer is probably in your account (in the main store, not the forums), if you lost it
Log in and look for my products

The Band-in-a-Box® Flash Drive Backup Option

Today (April 5) is National Flash Drive Day!

Did you know... not only can you download your Band-in-a-Box® Pro, MegaPAK, or PlusPAK purchase - you can also choose to add a flash drive backup copy with the installation files for only $15? It even comes with a Band-in-a-Box® keychain!

For the larger Band-in-a-Box® packages (UltraPAK, UltraPAK+, Audiophile Edition), the hard drive backup copy is available for only $25. This will include a preinstalled and ready to use program, along with your installation files.

Backup copies are offered during the checkout process on our website.

Already purchased your e-delivery version, and now you wish you had a backup copy? It's not too late! If your purchase was for the current version of Band-in-a-Box®, you can still reach out to our team directly to place your backup copy order!

Note: the Band-in-a-Box® keychain is only included with flash drive backup copies, and cannot be purchased separately.

Handy flash drive tip: Always try plugging in a USB device the wrong way first? If your flash drive (or other USB plug) doesn't have a symbol to indicate which way is up, look for the side with a seam on the metal connector (it only has a line across one side) - that's the side that either faces down or to the left, depending on your port placement.

Band-in-a-Box® 2024 Review: 4.75 out of 5 Stars!

If you're looking for a in-depth review of the newest Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows version, you'll definitely find it with Sound-Guy's latest review, Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows Review: Incredible new capabilities to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs.

A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."

"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."

"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
