BIAB drums, organ & "gospel" vocals. Gene Pensari on lead guitar This was November Collaboration W.I.P. No soundcloud link for this...it was a bit mashed by their processor so I've opted for the slightly better sound on YouTube. THANK YOU to all who commented & suggested...they made the result MUCH better. Most of the footage comes from the Perlinger Archives of YouTube creative commons. The drummer footage comes from RealVideo drums. It's a really cool little thing but I suspect that PG won't be expanding that part of the archive. I needed some Bandhi Nahbox footage. I nicked video & stills of Gene from FB - with his permission. The bits of me were done in in two stints. The 1st with the reddish shirt...I still had hopes of a singer but when he finally bowed out I did the blue session All up about an hour setting up and filming with an old Canon camera & a green screen.
Lyrics: You insist that we exist, In language of the pragmatist, But knowing doesn't make it so. Before we learn it's time to go.
Shhh, don't say it aloud, Nothing that could make you proud. What you say is taken down, And recited when they take your crown.
What you feel and what you see, are nothing more than things that we, Conjure for a farewell kiss, While we're astride our own abyss.
Shhh, don't say it out loud, Conversations are a thundercloud. What you say is taken down, And recited when you're far from town.
Hush, keep it in your head. No, you're no better off dead. What you say is taken down, And restated in your wedding gown.
Waking from some reality, To find it wasn't meant to be. Knowing something, making plans: All is nothing when the barcode scans.
Shhh, don't say it out loud, Conversations aren't allowed. What you say is taken down, And recited at your time to drown

I like it!!! Hard to make out the lyrics on my headphones, but that may be just me. Beautiful "wall of sound", though.
Sorry #17, The vocals are louder than I want but not quite loud enough for some. I've added the lyrics to the O.P. in case you return. Thanks for your kind words.

I've been looking forward to hearing this complete, and Gene did a fine job for you. Rest of the band sounds great too.
The lyrics are absolutely perfect for the piece, I wish I had a fraction of your writing skills.
Put me down as #19 who wishes the vocal could be a tad louder in places
Long piece but doesn't seem long, held my attention all the way through.
BTW, there is a little known feature in youtube called stats for nerds, if you right click within the video you can bring it up. When I do that it shows that youtube thinks your audio is too loud and is turning it down by 2.6 db. I shoot for as close to zero as possible when I master for youtube, peaks -1, LUFS -14 usually gets you there. https://productionadvice.co.uk/stats-for-nerds/
It's not often I get to disagree with you, Ray, but you don't need a different singer as you suggest in the description on YT. Gene and the whole band are excellent and I'm happy to have watched the progress of this learning experience. You're really good at this, Ray.
I love the Pink Floyd vibe! It really is a good fit for your tunes! Glad to see you step up and do more vocal work on your songs! It's an excellent song with lovely melody and chord structure! Your instrumentation choices are perfect for this!
Ray, I also liked it before and still liked it. The video is trippy as hell and though the song is long it had enough things going on to hold my attention until the end. Tom
Still one of the best things I've heard from you. Did you change the vocals quite a bit? It seems to have a Russell Mael (Sparks) quality to it now. Great set of lyrics and as all have mentioned, quite the tip to Monsieurs Floyd. Well done!

Hi Ray What a great audio visual experience !!! I find it excellent And what you definitely don't need is a new singer You do it just perfect for this music Also MUCH praise for Gene Makes a lot of fun listening I wish you a merry christmas and a healthy new year Many greetings Andi ;-)
The most Pink Floyd-ish song since Pink Floyd abandoned music, including the solo works of Waters and Gilmour! This is very well done. I'm #18 for louder vocals, but by now I know that's your style. The video is pretty cool and psychedelic too. Goes well with your song But we need to talk about that blue shirt, Ray!
Thanks B.D., Ah, you can see I don't plan or dress for my videos. You should see the state of the jeans I was wearing! I thought some 67ish oil projection images would be appropriate. I'm pleased you like it.

I couldn't raise the vocal any further...the sheer shallowness and crunchy gravel showed up too clearly. It's at the safest/cleanest I could cope with. Yes, you're right. The audio is mastered for CD and I was too lazy to run it through Reaper to reach the LUFs required. I usually address the audio's final level inside the video editor but - clealy - didn't. I'll try to remember - I'll leave a post it note on the screen. THANKS.

If your flash drive (or other USB plug) doesn't have a symbol to indicate which way is up, look for the side with a seam on the metal connector (it only has a line across one side) - that's the side that either faces down or to the left, depending on your port placement.
Update your Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows® Today!
Update your Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows for free with build 1111!
With this update, there's more control when saving images from the Print Preview window, we've added defaults to the MultiPicker for sorting and font size, updated printing options, updated RealTracks and other content, and addressed user-reported issues with the StylePicker, MIDI Soloists, key signature changes, and more!
A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."
"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."
"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
