Right Click Save Link/Target As

Guitar, 12-String Acoustic, Strumming Ev 120 - ram wma.sfz
CountryEven8_120_Style - ram wma.sfz

Copy the sfz into:
bb\RealTracks\Guitar, 12-String Acoustic, Strumming Ev 120
and
bb\Drums\CountryEven8

then drag the sfz into Sforzando and press the keys.
You should get instant playing of RealDrums and RealTracks from different files and sections.

Just FYI, no action requested. I tried this in Sforzando on Wine+Linux and it opens the .sfz OK, but complains that it can't find the .wma files. I can't presently see any obvious reason why not ... I wondered about commas et al in paths, but there are none in the Drums file. I seem to not have a plain native Linux .sfz player to try with. I'll likely explore that later and/or try similar in a DAW.

I think it could be the same as Biab issues not be able to play wma on Linux. If you open the sfz in text editor and change the .wma to .wav it should work if you have wav's in those folders.
I need some users with Window to try.

I've just tried setting the .sfz file to indicate .wav files.
A curious outcome.
I tried it first with the sforzando standalone. The sound quality was poor with lots of perturbances ... skips or jumps or something. I checked the hint_ and it was set.

I tried in in a sforzando VST in Reaper and is ran just fine. I have to import as drag-and-drop doesn't seem to work there, but then I don't often drag-and-drop anyway.

I have to leave the Windows tryout until later.

That's good you got it working in Reaper on Linux. To play the wav files it should not need hint_ram_based=1 but because your under the influence of wine it may help smile
If they can put an wma codec in the BBPlugin so it's not dependent on the system then it should work on Linux with wma source files using a Win VST Bridge.
Thanks for trying !

These are set for m4a, if Mac Sforzando can handle m4a then you should get sound.
Right click Save Link\Target As
Guitar, 12-String Acoustic, Strumming Ev 120 - ram m4a.sfz
CountryEven8_120_Style - ram m4a.sfz

Copy the sfz into:
/RealTracks/Guitar, 12-String Acoustic, Strumming Ev 120
and
/Drums/CountryEven8

then drag the sfz into Sforzando and press the keys.
You should get instant playing of RealDrums and RealTracks from different files and sections.

You can drag them in Text Edit and change the .m4a to .aiff if you have the Audiophile.

It took me a while to get to it, but the .sfz files worked fine in Sforzando standalone and Sforzando VST plugin in Reaper, using either the .wma or the .wav audio data on Windows 10.

That's great thanks for trying. So this will allow the BBPlugin to work the same way to give tracks instantly in the BBPlugin/Standalone.

Just FYI, after reading MusicStudent's note about Sforzando versions in another thread, I went and installed the current version on Linux (I'd failed to find the version info in the previous install, so I know not what it was). I tried drag-and-drop of the Guitar wav.sfz to the Sforzando standalone in the latest version. In very limited tests it seems to be playing OK. Whether that tells us anything useful I don't know.

This is the sfz wav version of the Arranger demo
SFZ-Arranger.zip
Unzip and drop the sfz into Sforzando.

The Band-in-a-Box® Flash Drive Backup Option

Today (April 5) is National Flash Drive Day!

Did you know... not only can you download your Band-in-a-Box® Pro, MegaPAK, or PlusPAK purchase - you can also choose to add a flash drive backup copy with the installation files for only $15? It even comes with a Band-in-a-Box® keychain!

For the larger Band-in-a-Box® packages (UltraPAK, UltraPAK+, Audiophile Edition), the hard drive backup copy is available for only $25. This will include a preinstalled and ready to use program, along with your installation files.

Backup copies are offered during the checkout process on our website.

Already purchased your e-delivery version, and now you wish you had a backup copy? It's not too late! If your purchase was for the current version of Band-in-a-Box®, you can still reach out to our team directly to place your backup copy order!

Note: the Band-in-a-Box® keychain is only included with flash drive backup copies, and cannot be purchased separately.

Handy flash drive tip: Always try plugging in a USB device the wrong way first? If your flash drive (or other USB plug) doesn't have a symbol to indicate which way is up, look for the side with a seam on the metal connector (it only has a line across one side) - that's the side that either faces down or to the left, depending on your port placement.

Band-in-a-Box® 2024 Review: 4.75 out of 5 Stars!

If you're looking for a in-depth review of the newest Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows version, you'll definitely find it with Sound-Guy's latest review, Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows Review: Incredible new capabilities to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs.

A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."

"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."

"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
