Hi. I do music using BIAB and Garageband. Usually I start with BIAB and my guitar. When I made something I take it over to Garageband to play guitars and bass.
I love to play and create music and the melodi is important and the styles can vary a lot! As for now I have 28 instrumental "songs" on Spotify, and I try to do them short, around 2 minutes.
So my Studio/Mancave is a Mac, two Boss Katana Amps, many guitars (lol), a bass, a FocusRite 212, ADAM Audio monitors and some other stuff.

I hope someones enjoy. smile

For me there’s no better place in the band than to have one leg in the harmony world and the other in the percussive. Thank you Paul Tutmarc and Leo Fender.

Dear Soren,

Here is another extremely helpful video that you may need to watch as soon as you can.

This one is in case you want to have fun with Band-in-a-Box--and with your buddies.

It might be nominated this year as the best music documentary of 2022, I am not sure.

Welcome to the forum. I listened to many of your tracks on youtube. Very nice stuff. I think you may like it here as there are many friendly and talented people to interact with.

Some of us are retired and have a good bit of time to play and record music. Go to the user showcase and poke around a bit.

We talk about a lot of subjects, from AI to A Flat...lol

Please post photos of your studio and guitars. We all like that stuff.

Here are a few photo examples of past discussions.

Yes, we like dogs here!

Welcome aboard.

Hello, Sören. Welcome to the forum. Haha --great advice from Bass Thumper and David Snyder. Your post didn't mention a specific song, so I listened to a bunch (there a helpful message as you click into the Showcase that gives you advice on posting that makes your posts most helpful to others). Man, some smooth playing in there, and wonderful jams to listen to --each one a treat really. Nice bass playing, and those guitars sing. The mixes are good, too. Looking forward to more.

Enjoy whatever happens!

Thanks guys for input and all kind words. I'm so glad I picked up my guitar after 25 years on the wall. I really enjoy the whole creative process so Band-In-A-Box was perfect! It was a friend to me that told me about it. The real tracks idea is amazing! The program overall is very complex and sometimes messy. It feels like I use about 10% of it. lol

Most of the time I take a full "band" over to Garageband but when the song is finished it's different what is kept. Sometimes only the drums, sometimes some keyboard and a bass.

I also use BIAB a lot for practicing. Even scale and technique is far more fun to practice alone with a band playing instead of a boring metronome.

I would gladly add some pictures from my mancave but I don't know how to add them yet.

I've checked the shared Videos you link and there are great stuff and seem to be a nice community here! I retired after 45 years last year so I have plenty of time for this!

The Band-in-a-Box® Flash Drive Backup Option

Today (April 5) is National Flash Drive Day!

Did you know... not only can you download your Band-in-a-Box® Pro, MegaPAK, or PlusPAK purchase - you can also choose to add a flash drive backup copy with the installation files for only $15? It even comes with a Band-in-a-Box® keychain!

For the larger Band-in-a-Box® packages (UltraPAK, UltraPAK+, Audiophile Edition), the hard drive backup copy is available for only $25. This will include a preinstalled and ready to use program, along with your installation files.

Backup copies are offered during the checkout process on our website.

Already purchased your e-delivery version, and now you wish you had a backup copy? It's not too late! If your purchase was for the current version of Band-in-a-Box®, you can still reach out to our team directly to place your backup copy order!

Note: the Band-in-a-Box® keychain is only included with flash drive backup copies, and cannot be purchased separately.

Handy flash drive tip: Always try plugging in a USB device the wrong way first? If your flash drive (or other USB plug) doesn't have a symbol to indicate which way is up, look for the side with a seam on the metal connector (it only has a line across one side) - that's the side that either faces down or to the left, depending on your port placement.

Band-in-a-Box® 2024 Review: 4.75 out of 5 Stars!

If you're looking for a in-depth review of the newest Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows version, you'll definitely find it with Sound-Guy's latest review, Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows Review: Incredible new capabilities to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs.

A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."

"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."

"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
