Don't Talk About Love To Me Finished this one 6 years ago and decided to do a re-visit. A fun little "love" song. Asked Janice if she’d like to sing harmony. Lyrics & Vocal - Leon Janice Merritt – Backing Vocals I played the 12 string electric 6 string electric and the sitar (not the intro part) on my Variax. The BandRealTracks in style: ~684:Bass, Electric, PopHalfNotesSync Ev 120 RealTracks in style: ~686:Organ, B3, Background Pop Ev 120 RealTracks in style: ~405:Guitar, Acoustic, Strumming Ev 120 RealTracks in song: 2534:Guitar, 12-String Acoustic, HeldChords RealDrums in style: NashvilleEven8^8-a:Snare, HiHat Open , b:Snare, Ride There is a 2nd RealDrum track and a Sitar RT at the intro as well. Don't Talk About Love To MeLove is a fiction Love’s for the birds When they say I love you It’s just three little words Take the sleeping beauty In the deep dark woods Here comes Prince Charming Now don’t he look the goods Kneels down beside her And she wakes with a kiss Looks up at the clock and says What time you call this? Don’t talk about love to me Don’t give me that sweet caress Don’t talk about two hearts beating Or about happiness Love’s a deception It’s a trick of the light A sad misconception A curse and a blight They say it’s forever Then they take the next train Here comes a new fool Let’s hear the refrain Don’t talk about love to me Don’t give me that sweet caress Don’t talk about two hearts beating Or about happiness See the bride at the alter Best day of her life This is just the beginning Of her trouble and strife The man by her side Yeah he’s saying I will With his eye on the bridesmaid And his hand in the till Don’t talk about love to me Don’t give me that sweet caress Don’t talk about two hearts beating Or about happiness Don’t talk about love to me Don’t tell me about your affairs You want tell a love story Go and tell someone who cares Don’t talk about love to me Don’t give me that sweet caress Don’t talk about two hearts beating Or about happiness

Leon and Janice, great job. I liked this fun little song.
"The man by her side Yeah he’s saying I will With his eye on the bridesmaid And his hand in the till"
The guitar and sitar work is especially wonderful
https://soundcloud.com/user-646279677BiaB 2024 Windows For me there’s no better place in the band than to have one leg in the harmony world and the other in the percussive. Thank you Paul Tutmarc and Leo Fender.

BRILLIANT...your 12 strings. elec. guitar tone is perfect - via l'Variaxe and the sitar inside the song is also great. Leon's vocal and phrasing are cool...some of the phrasing was counter intuitive but gives a distinctive edge to the delivery. there is, however, in my headphones a strident overload on Leon's vocal at & around 5kHz....a wide scoop at and about that makes his vocal sit beautifully. Janice's vocals are great and have the effect of taming, by contrast, the stridency. This song has some sense of The Zimmermen of Young Modern...every so slightly country flavoured power pop. TOP STUFF.

Wonderful song, love the melody --especially in the chorus. Yes, Janice can make anything better --especially songs. Good band, especially that 12-string. Enjoy everything about, including that clock in the pic (notice I didn't say especialy). You're always such a treat to listen to, Peter.

Peter...a'60s British ballad reborn...this so reminiscent of those great Beatle's, Chad and Jeremy, etc...and even Everly Brothers tunes...being a child of that era...I love it...the music is so cool and the vocals are stellar...your blend with Janice is so good and so tight...lyrically so sweet and so cynical...loved it all!

Great job Peter. Loved the writing and who knew you could play sitar with a country flavor? Nice sound and excellent choice for a background singer.

Hello Peter and Janice,
What a nice song and vocal harmonies. Oh man, loved it from the start! You and Janice did a very good job here. The lyrics are not giving much hope on love, but I think singing that is hoping for the opposite, isn't it? (only in this case!)
And I was glad you used the sitar too, though a little modestly, yet...
Have a nice day, Hans

Yes, reminds me of 1960's Brit Pop. Not my favourite genre but this has a sweetness to the melody that I like. I like the harmonies too.

Good song and I like the lyrics and how you deliver them. I'm not a fan of the sitar in the intro, but it works quite well in the outro. And of course the chorus and Janice harmonies are the icing on the cake. I would have loved to have her in the verses after the first chorus, but I guess she gets a lot of requests and the day only has 24 hours. Overall, everyone involved did a great job

Peter & Leon,
A very catchy song. Good write. The references to 60's Radio Pop are appropriate... That repeating guitar lick serves both of those purposes well. Nice mix. Good vocals. Janice's harmonies are a perfect fit.

Peter,
Great 60’s folk sound here . . . very appealing to the ear and gravitating melody. Sad thematically, but well executed in the write. Terrific harmonies, catchy chorus. Liked this one a lot. Good stuff!
All my best to you,
Deej

I feeling all gushy about this one. Fantastic song! This is one of my favorite genres. And you have done it well.
Vocals are one of Leon's best, and Janice's harmony is perfect for the chorus.
Love the 12-string sound!!!

Happy love song with a dark tone, makes me smile. The intro reminds me of The Beatles and the 60's feel is present pleasantly. Very enjoyable chorus with nice wistful melody and chording. Good band, guitars sparkle nicely and sitar fits well also. Good vocals, Leon's and Janice's voices blend together beautifully.

Much, much, much more of those daily 24 hours are spent mountain biking and hiking than making music and that is why we are always so far behind on projects. Glad you like the tune! Janice

Peter & Leon,
A very catchy song. Good write. The references to 60's Radio Pop are appropriate... That repeating guitar lick serves both of those purposes well. Nice mix. Good vocals. Janice's harmonies are a perfect fit.
fj Thanks Always appreciate your comments. Peter

Peter,
Great 60’s folk sound here . . . very appealing to the ear and gravitating melody. Sad thematically, but well executed in the write. Terrific harmonies, catchy chorus. Liked this one a lot. Good stuff!
All my best to you,
Deej Thanks Deej Peter

Peter, Leon, and Janice,
The bright melody makes my heart happy. 12 string guitar is very cool. The harmony between Leon and Janis is also wonderful. Enjoyed my listen a lot.

Hi Peter & Janice
Great song with an unexpected path! And yueah, that 12-string sets the era - good era for music in my opinion. Rally nice vocals, peter. And Janice nailed the harmony. Doersn't she always?
Enjoyed my listen very mnuch. Take care ...
Alan I feeling all gushy about this one. Fantastic song! This is one of my favorite genres. And you have done it well.
Vocals are one of Leon's best, and Janice's harmony is perfect for the chorus.
Love the 12-string sound!!! Thanks guys! Janice

Very cool intro. Loved that jangly guitar. Super vocal Leon. Janice and Leon sound great together. One of my favs of yours. Well done... Thanks Scott Peter Happy love song with a dark tone, makes me smile. The intro reminds me of The Beatles and the 60's feel is present pleasantly. Very enjoyable chorus with nice wistful melody and chording. Good band, guitars sparkle nicely and sitar fits well also. Good vocals, Leon's and Janice's voices blend together beautifully.
Janne Appreciate the comments Janne. Peter

Band-in-a-Box® 2024 Review: 4.75 out of 5 Stars!
If you're looking for a in-depth review of the newest Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows version, you'll definitely find it with Sound-Guy's latest review, Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows Review: Incredible new capabilities to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs.
A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."
"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."
"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
