A Simple Country Song

I just finished watching the Tammy Wynette and George Jones series and thought "I should do a country song". Thus the song and the title!

BiaB style = Marty - 50's Country
Tempo = 64 BPM

I deleted the drums.
Drums - GrooveMonkee country MIDI drum loops - drums - Steven Slate's SSD-5 - preset country
Bass - Ample Bass - preset P-Bass
Guitar - Sonivox - Taylor acoustic guitar
Strings- Kontakt - Aurora - Altos and Sopranos together
Me - Lead guitar
Me-via my MIDI keyboard controller - Kontakt - Lap Steel - preset - Crying
My good friend BobH is playing the acoustic rhythm guitar

As usual all comments welcomed.

Me, it's not about how many times you fail, it's about how many times you get back up.
Cop, that's not how field sobriety tests work.

Hi Mario,

This is very tasty - well done.

IMHO - It would be great with some vocals. Maybe some of you "country" folk out there could oblige.

Best Regards
Nigel

Hey Mario, that really is some ol' 50's sounding country. Good job. I thought the Aahs in the background helped to bring out that feel, they did start to sound a bit computerized sustaining a note a while though. I'm not very experienced with those, so I don't know if that can be easily corrected. I met George once and he was very nice to me. I can almost see him sitting at the table with a shot glass in front of him while listening to your tune. Well done.

Yep, that's country!

My favorite part was your tremolo guitar track, great sound! Steel guitar sounds good too, amazing you did that with your keyboard.

Good stuff, Mario!

Thanx Brad. That vocal part was from a choir and in a choir they can hold a note a lot longer than a single vocalist as they can breath at different times. However I will take this into account for future songs.

Yes George was a wild and crazy guy at times wasn't he.

Thanx so much. That tremolo guitar was a salute to another one of my guitar heroes Duane Eddy. I just didn't add as much reverb as he did.

COOOOOL,
this is begging for a lyrics & vocal as the melody is clear and effective.
I dig instrumentals but I also love it when they share the stage with a vocal.

Cheers

Man, if they still allowed cigarette commercials, this would be ideal for Marlboro. I really like the way you interpret life with music, Mario. Such a fine talent that immerses us in the world around us. A fine melody well played.

Enjoy whatever happens!

Country is not my favorite genre, so the title of the song doesn't sound inviting to me, but the song itself is very likable, reminds me of a documentary on history of country music by Ken Burns. Nice guitar playing and those selected instruments make the mood quite authentic.

Hi Mario,

A lovely song to swoon to (in a pub?). The end was a bit abrupt, but a very nice composition.
What I love is how many styles/genres you make your songs in. I have heard all kinds of melodies passing by.
You are very creative, I must say. I like that.

And if you can find yourself a singer, that would make the day!

Hans, being in a wedding band for years exposed me to many genres of music. I guess this is a holdover from those days, i.e. jack of all trades but master of none.

I'm open for anyone to replace the guitar with a vocal.

Thanx for for those very nice comments.

Very cool Mario.

A great capture of the melancholic country sound from the 60's and early 70's.
And without over doing the strings that IMO were prevalent during that period.

Great performances by you and the session folks!

For the larger Band-in-a-Box® packages (UltraPAK, UltraPAK+, Audiophile Edition), the hard drive backup copy is available for only $25. This will include a preinstalled and ready to use program, along with your installation files.

Backup copies are offered during the checkout process on our website.

Already purchased your e-delivery version, and now you wish you had a backup copy? It's not too late! If your purchase was for the current version of Band-in-a-Box®, you can still reach out to our team directly to place your backup copy order!

Note: the Band-in-a-Box® keychain is only included with flash drive backup copies, and cannot be purchased separately.

Handy flash drive tip: Always try plugging in a USB device the wrong way first? If your flash drive (or other USB plug) doesn't have a symbol to indicate which way is up, look for the side with a seam on the metal connector (it only has a line across one side) - that's the side that either faces down or to the left, depending on your port placement.

Band-in-a-Box® 2024 Review: 4.75 out of 5 Stars!

If you're looking for a in-depth review of the newest Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows version, you'll definitely find it with Sound-Guy's latest review, Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows Review: Incredible new capabilities to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs.

A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."

"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."

"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
