There is a lot to like in this one.
Everything is top shelf and so professional sounding.
Great vocal, lyrics, mix, and video.

Me, it's not about how many times you fail, it's about how many times you get back up.

I like it! A lot!
A good write (from you both).
A REALLY nice melody. (Interestingly, Leo Sayer and Gilbert Sullivan came to mind).

Mix is really good.

I like it, and it's good to hear that your vocals aren't buried in the mix, I like that.

For my taste the vocals could have used a little less reverb to fit better with the rest of the instruments, but that's my only nit.

HI Folks ...

Di and I have been very ill for over a month - starting to feel a little better.

Ray, in his typical very humble way, didn't mention he authored the lyric and created the video. He treated my original instrumental perfectly with all his excellent additions. He was a real pleasure to work with - a truly respectful gentleman. And a fine musician/composer. Many thanks, Ray, for your wonderful contributions to this project - it wouldn't have attained this level without your effort & creative input.

I should be returnung to the forum in the next couple of days - looking forward to it. Thanks to all who listen and comment.

Wishing everyone a terrific 2023.

Alan

Thanks Mario,
the song had a serious head start with Alan's melody, arrangement & mix.

Thanks FJ,
I've long been a fan of Gilbert O'S & also of Leo's 1st album.

Thanks B.D.
Reverb is very handy for rounding off rough edges and my croak has a lot of them - a spoonful of honey & a jar of echo.

Mario. Floyd, & BD ...

Ray & I appreciate those nice comments very much. I'VE always liked Gilbert O'Sullivan since his big hit "Alone Naturally back in the mid 70s. He was a pretty quirky guy, but a heck of a singer. And Leo Sayer was somewhat quirky, too buyt in the opposite was. Both had lotd of talent. I miss that era of music ... both in rock and countryy music.

Mant thanks, gentlemen.

And, of course, a shout out to my partner in crime, Ray. Thanks, mate! Enjoyed it - a lot! Can't wait to do another one!!!

Alan

Oh, you three are such a wonderful group. Ray, I'm happy you noticed the great potential and bought out the best fruit. Alan, this was a terrific write right from the start. All the best to you and DI. The instrumentation and mixing are just perfect. There's so much in there that is good and it is all heard without clutter. That melody is so smooth and the lyrics fill it with the right words. Cool video too, Ray.

Enjoy whatever happens!

Nice combination all.
I think the vocal is a little lost in reverb but otherwise, a nice one.

Hi Ray and Alan,

At first, a wonderful cohab between the both of you.
There is a beautiful song born out of that!
Alan, you make very lovely melodies. I'm glad you are getting better now. I hope Di too!

And Ray..., I'm very surprised you also sing lovesongs, at least in the tone of them.
Even a very high note! Not bad at all!!!
But beware not to make your voice too electronically. It is worth to listen to without those fx-es.
Do you remember what you once told me about using fx?

Hans

What a pleasant, lovely, and singable melody.

Your lyrics fit Al's music quite well.

I liked your high note...smooth!

Thanks Hans,
There's not much in the way of treatment on this vocal other than the Spectrum Matcher, (basically EQ & levels plus some fairy dust I suspect). What sounds like FX is actually the double tracked vocal rubbing against the main. I needed the double to give the voice a little more presence.

Oops ... we listened and commented on fb a while back and neglected the forum smile

The video did a great job presenting the same things differently theme.
The color/B&W was an excellent notion.

Interesting and well done collab y'all!

The Band-in-a-Box® Flash Drive Backup Option

Today (April 5) is National Flash Drive Day!

Did you know... not only can you download your Band-in-a-Box® Pro, MegaPAK, or PlusPAK purchase - you can also choose to add a flash drive backup copy with the installation files for only $15? It even comes with a Band-in-a-Box® keychain!

For the larger Band-in-a-Box® packages (UltraPAK, UltraPAK+, Audiophile Edition), the hard drive backup copy is available for only $25. This will include a preinstalled and ready to use program, along with your installation files.

Backup copies are offered during the checkout process on our website.

Already purchased your e-delivery version, and now you wish you had a backup copy? It's not too late! If your purchase was for the current version of Band-in-a-Box®, you can still reach out to our team directly to place your backup copy order!

Note: the Band-in-a-Box® keychain is only included with flash drive backup copies, and cannot be purchased separately.

Handy flash drive tip: Always try plugging in a USB device the wrong way first? If your flash drive (or other USB plug) doesn't have a symbol to indicate which way is up, look for the side with a seam on the metal connector (it only has a line across one side) - that's the side that either faces down or to the left, depending on your port placement.

Band-in-a-Box® 2024 Review: 4.75 out of 5 Stars!

If you're looking for a in-depth review of the newest Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows version, you'll definitely find it with Sound-Guy's latest review, Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows Review: Incredible new capabilities to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs.

A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."

"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."

"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
