Band In A Box Plugin 2022 v4.8.7
Mac OS 13.0.1 (22A400) Ventura
Logic Pro 10.7.5

I cannot get any sound to work in Logic - stand alone works as normal

I bought band in a box to be able to use the plugin interface in Logic Pro so as not to be forced to use the UGLY as sin standalone app - which literally hurts my eyes due to my autism>

ANY FIXES FOR THIS NIGHTMARE OUT THERE??????

WILL A DARK MODE be implemented on Band In A BOX apps/plugins EVER?????
The GUI on these is so last century, looks cheap and nasty>

anyhow back to the NO AUDIO in the OS X Plugin, please anyone help please xxx

Hi,

Can you clarify if the "standalone" plugin works on your system? This is file located in /Applications/Band-in-a-Box/BBPlugin/Files/

Can you generate and play files? Let us know what you find.

Hi Andrew as stated in my original post:

"stand alone works as normal" the problem is with the DAW plugin

OOPS sorry reread ur reply -

standalone plugin in location u specified works exactly the same as the daw plugin does> both will generate and play files - but no audio outputs, unlike the standard BIB app which outputs audio and behaves normally>

Thanks - ok so the the "DAW Plugin" works the same for you whether you use it in Logic or if you use the "Standalone" (not to be confused with the main Band-in-a-Box app.).

I'm confused though when you say it will generate and play files. If you look in this folder "Band-in-a-Box/BBPlugin/Saved Tracks": When you press generate in the plugin (use the standalone plugin for testing, as it eliminates a lot of variables in a DAW) it should create a unique subfolder with the current time. In that folder, you should see some wave and/or MIDI files being created as the generation proceeds. Do you see those files there?

How did you do that (making it dark mode)? I don't see that option anywhere.

Hopefully you will have the 2023 version on Mac soon unless apple change their OS again and apps stop working then you may have to wait many months more while a lot of overtime goes into fixing the problem.

The Mac version of BIAB normally shows up between May and September, sometimes a little earlier or later.

Just now chatted with Will in CHAT room. 12/14/2022.

NO, MAC BAIB PLUG IN is NOT compatible with Ventura.

He says there is NO KNOWN DATE when compatibility will happen.

I am MAC 2021 Audiophile. I won't upgrade until this issue is fixed.
My fix is I construct my song in the App and Generate AIFF Tracks.
I add the tracks to my DAW (Logic) individually. Much slower and a pain, but that works.

Until then the best work around is to use BiaB rather than the plugin to drag tracks to your DAW. It works fine and allows use of all of BiaB’s tools.

Lenovo Win 10 16 gig ram, Mac mini with 16 gig of ram, BiaB 2022, Realband, Harrison Mixbus 32c version 9.1324, Melodyne 5 editor, Presonus Audiobox 1818VSL, Presonus control app, Komplete 49 key controller.

There are always a host of issues in the music production world relative to major MacOS updates. Izotope products, for example, are typically one of the last to be designated compatible - often 3-4 months after the OS release. I think a good general rule is to be patient on upgrading the OS sans any critical need to do so.

Peripherally related so pardon smile

There is an updated DAW Plugin (4.8.14) that supports macOS Ventura. The patch is still in pre-release testing, but will be posted on the site soon. You can download it right now from here:
https://dl11.pgmusic.com/support/mpatch/bb2022_mac_update_build609_dawplugin_4.8.14.pkg

This patch is the same as the shipping build 609, it's just the plugin build that is updated.

The Band-in-a-Box® Flash Drive Backup Option

Today (April 5) is National Flash Drive Day!

Did you know... not only can you download your Band-in-a-Box® Pro, MegaPAK, or PlusPAK purchase - you can also choose to add a flash drive backup copy with the installation files for only $15? It even comes with a Band-in-a-Box® keychain!

For the larger Band-in-a-Box® packages (UltraPAK, UltraPAK+, Audiophile Edition), the hard drive backup copy is available for only $25. This will include a preinstalled and ready to use program, along with your installation files.

Backup copies are offered during the checkout process on our website.

Already purchased your e-delivery version, and now you wish you had a backup copy? It's not too late! If your purchase was for the current version of Band-in-a-Box®, you can still reach out to our team directly to place your backup copy order!

Note: the Band-in-a-Box® keychain is only included with flash drive backup copies, and cannot be purchased separately.

Handy flash drive tip: Always try plugging in a USB device the wrong way first? If your flash drive (or other USB plug) doesn't have a symbol to indicate which way is up, look for the side with a seam on the metal connector (it only has a line across one side) - that's the side that either faces down or to the left, depending on your port placement.

Band-in-a-Box® 2024 Review: 4.75 out of 5 Stars!

If you're looking for a in-depth review of the newest Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows version, you'll definitely find it with Sound-Guy's latest review, Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows Review: Incredible new capabilities to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs.

A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."

"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."

"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
