Hello, forum friends After a little blank, this is my first post of this year. This song is written in 80’s fusion style. It's a pop ballad with a bit of jazz feel. Any comments encouraged. Always welcome. Best regards. Shigeki Adachi Title: イヴォンヌのため息 (Translation: Yvonne's Sigh) Vocal: Natsuki, my friend Link: https://soundcloud.com/animarorecords/ivonne-sigh-2023Style is _JVELVET.STY Velvet Jazz Funk Fusion RealTracks in style: ~1636:Bass, Electric, JazzFunkBreezy Ev16 075 RealTracks in style: ~1639:Piano, Electric, Rhythm JazzFunkBreezy Ev16 075 Loop in Song: Chillout/Chillout - colours_75_drum_loop_a_minor ev16.wav RealTracks in style: ~1638:Guitar, Electric, Rhythm JazzFunkBreezyMuted Ev16 075 RealTracks in song: 1167:Guitar, Electric, Soloist RockBalladBrent Ev 065 RealDrums in Style: JazzFunkGroovin^5-a:HHSdStk, b:RdSStk Added following additional VST instruments Ist Violins, 2nd Violins, Violas, Cellos played with EastWest Symphonic Orchestra solo Trumpet and 4 Trombones played with EastWest Goliath Scored by me. Summary of lyrics: There are a bright sun and a sea breeze, Children are having fun on the beach I put my feet in the shallows of the sea Waves, please take me away somewhere along with my sighs and tears I wonder if you are already looking for me I left home in silence I feel so lonely But it's not because I'm alone The cigarette butt by the bedside has a red rouge color I'm not an adult enough who can pretend not to sense what happened And I can't laugh it off You are very optimistic about it Maybe you are making light of me The more a man hides it, the more a woman smells it out Don't take it lightly Now I realize again how I love you Oh, what a miserable face is mirrored in the window glass It's like a cat that licked the salt water I don't want to hear your excuses My heart keeps hurt Please keep thinking of me at another place I won't be home for a while

Hi, Shigeki. Within the first 4 measures I said, "This could make a good, highly paid theme for a TV show." By the time Natsuki started singing I said, "No, this MUST be for a big-time movie." Before it ended I thought a movie should be made FROM this wonderful song. Man, you are so good at scoring those strings, and laying them in a professional-sounding mix. Please thank Yvonne for helping us understand what this entertaining movie is all about, although you always manage to put the meaning in the music so masterfully.

Man, I've missed the full, big sound you can put into a melody. Welcome back, and this is great!

Shigeki Adachi, even if it's not my preferred music genre, it's really very well done, great arrangement, top production and it's really amazing what you do with the strings. Very good job!

I love the music you do! This sounds great - especially the strings. I'd have liked a bit more attack on the trumpet solo at the end, where it sounded just a bit synthetic. But everything else sounded awesome! Very nice!

Marty,
Thank you very much for taking the time to listen and comment. I am really glad you like this tune, Natsuki's vocal and my arrangement. And I much appreciate your comments on comparing this song to a movie. Let me confess. Among the French films I saw a long time ago, there was a movie called "Le Parfum d'Yvonne" directed by Patrice Leconte. I got a hint from the title of the movie and came up with the title of this song. I am always very encouraged by your kind words.
Best regards.

Burt died today & then I click on a song that uses smart, crisp jazzy pop full of nuance and a delightful melody. The only Thing that doesn't hold that spell is the guitar solo. Lovely stuff.

Shigeki Adachi,
Beautiful!
The strings are Gorgeous! Excellent movement.
The vocals by Natsuki are a delight.
Good arrangement. Cool guitar.
Excellent mix.
This has the feel/sound of a Hal David/Burt Bacharach classic...

Shigeki your orchestration scoring skills are second to none. Those strings are fantastic. Natsuki has a great voice. Hopefully you will do more songs with her. Outstanding rhythm section and mix. Loved it.
Me, it's not about how many times you fail, it's about how many times you get back up. Cop, that's not how field sobriety tests work.

David (Cuny),
Thank you very much for taking the time to listen and comment. I am really glad you like this tune and my strings. I am very grateful to you for always analyzing my songs in detail. I understand your point out about the solo trumpet. Please forgive me to give you a little excuse, it's still quite difficult to give a trumpet an attack while keeping its tone soft. I am always very encouraged by your kind words.
Best regards.

rayc, Thank you very much for taking the time to listen and comment. I am really glad you like this tune. Burt Bacharach is one of my favorite composers. When I was young, I listened to all of his songs and learned how to develop chord progressions and melodies. I also really like his work "Bells of St. Augustine" written when he was 92 years old. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UyRvMeC89OoThis song is also sung by a Japanese famous singer with Japanese lyrics. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=10YO8Uq4GxEI am very sorry that he passed away. Band-in-a-Box® 2024 Review: 4.75 out of 5 Stars!
If you're looking for a in-depth review of the newest Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows version, you'll definitely find it with Sound-Guy's latest review, Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows Review: Incredible new capabilities to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs.
A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."
"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."
"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
