quantum leaps
Synonyms of quantum leap
: an abrupt change, sudden increase, or dramatic advance

I see all the bumped backlogs in the wishlists.
There needs to be a better ways to implement as it seems to be harder for PG compared to other software to implement improvements.
Maybe put new features on hold and just do some releases with lots of content only while you are working on new ways in the background of doing things crossplatform new language as it looks like you have zero spare time to do anything else.

JUCE is the most widely used framework for audio application and plug-in development. It is an open source C++ codebase that can be used to create standalone software on Windows, macOS, Linux, iOS and Android, as well VST, VST3, AU, AUv3, AAX and LV2 plug-ins.

JUCE allows developers to focus on the most valuable parts of their software by taking care of the differences between operating systems (both desktop and mobile) and plug-in formats. With JUCE’s library of digital audio processing (DSP) building blocks you can quickly prototype and release native applications and plug-ins with a consistent user experience across all supported platforms. Using JUCE also future-proofs your products against operating system and plug-in host updates.

Operating System Compatibility
JUCE is a cross platform framework allowing a single codebase to compile to native applications and plug-ins with the same user experience on Windows, macOS, Linux...

Audio Software & Plug-in Compatibility
JUCE makes it easy to create both standalone audio applications or plug-ins that can be loaded inside digital audio workstations (DAWs) like Logic, Live, Pro Tools, FL Studio or Cubase. A single JUCE project can be used to create VST, VST3, AU, AUv3, AAX and LV2 plug-ins from the same source code, and also provides the functionality required to host these plug-in formats in your own software.

Audio Processing & MIDI
JUCE provides an abstraction for processing audio samples and MIDI from the native audio devices on each platform or a host DAW. With JUCE’s library of digital signal processing (DSP) building blocks you can rapidly prototype and deploy different audio effects, filters, instruments and generators.

User Interface & Graphics
JUCE provides a versatile UI abstraction that can run on any platform, with the option of hardware acceleration via OpenGL. JUCE handles the rendering of 2D and 3D graphics, and a selection of image formats and fonts. All JUCE UI widgets can be themed, allowing you to have a consistent user experience across multiple different products and platforms.

Musocity,

Juce is a nice looking framework platform but it sure is expensive at $2,600 front end payment and $130 per user per month subscription fee.

One-off perpetual price $2,600 paid once

Minimum Commitment 1 month $130

Is that OR or AND ?

As if it's one payment of $2600 I will pay that for PG.

Hmm ... per developer.

Edit: Though I reckon that's not unreasonable.
My IDE cost that.
My PCB CAD cost several times that.
We paid $35k a couple of decades ago for a complex telephony library.

There has been no new response to this issue so I'm looking into creating a VST that will read the current track data in the main Biab and transfer that to the VST (same as I can do in Reaper), so the VST will be playing the source track sections back in sync to the DAW tempo map.
As you drag it will render the sections to wav.

BIaB plug-in already uses JUCE. And has for years. Yes, JUCE is very good, and cross platform.

We don’t plan on using JUCE for our existing applications other than plug-ins.

Have Fun!

Keep the existing ones as they are sure, but once you start moving the generate code into the VST/VST Standalone this will rocket ahead being cross platform giving Mac users the VST and the same time using the same audio format for both. This will be more suitable for Mac Pro Audio users and Win users alike. As I have said I see the VST Standalone the new simple to use cross platform Band In A Box Lite® so a Linux version also while your at it.

What was I just saying ? and I just got this in an email, that has to be a message ! it's like HELLO:
Quote:
But 13 years is a very long time in this industry and we are faced with the fact that the platform that AATranslator is built on is showing its age and as such we are finding it increasingly difficult to support or add features that we know you would like.

The good news is that for the last 18 months we have been re-writing AATranslator (AATranslator2) using a more modern language and a more powerful platform.

AATranslator can translate DAW session projects to other DAW's.

I think it's vitally important to be looking at the JUCE plugin as the way forward so your eggs are not all in the one Delphi basket.
The Plugin seems to have developed faster with things being added overnight on both Win Mac easier than it seems to happen with the Biab main. The PLUGIN seems to always have to wait on things to get done in BBW4 because the BB programmers are working on the Mac or Win BBW, meanwhile Adar is still waiting, he may as well being doing the whole programming that he is very good at rather than waiting on Delphi programmers. If I as someone with no programming training can do it in Reaper surely Adar C++ programmer can handle this in the PLUGIN.
Let the development run parallel transferring the generate code directly in the PLUGIN gradually, there was word from the beta forum that is wasn't going to happen, I think this will be a mistake if true.
If I can generate up RealDrums, UsersTracks and Loops in Reaper surely you can add this code for a start to the PLUGIN ?
I have been looking into this long enough and see it could be done, I would much rather see PG go this way rather than me having to develop a 3rd party Plugin to do this or see other companies do this. I know many thing I have suggested here to PG to do have been implemented by other companies after the fact like sample sets for VST's like Session Guitars and UJAM Guitars, RealTracks Live Arranger.
All the bloat you have in Biab you don't need in the PLUGIN as most can be done in the user's DAW.
If users want all the functions in Biab they can use it then simply SAVE FROZEN SGU and open in the PLUGIN and have the identical thing in their DAW instantly. At the end of the day all the PLUGIN needs is the wav instructions.
Get rid of all the old limitations like time signatures and 255 bar limit.

Me, it's not about how many times you fail, it's about how many times you get back up.
Cop, that's not how field sobriety tests work.

Getting the code into the Plugin will also let you have the Tabbed MultiPicker right in the Plugin.

It will be as easy as it is below:

As the PLUGIN develops with it's own code it could be a totally separate product with crossplatform installers allowing users to install on both Win & Mac (on the same month of the year) using the same audio format as you can with Kontakt, Tootrack and others. This will build a new parallel market of DAW only users.
How it works now 6 months apart is not sustainable down the track with double the cost or repeating the same work on mac compared to one crossplatform PLUGIN/PLUGIN Standalone.

If they are now making the PLUGIN play the wma sections directly so all DAW's as well as Reaper will have instant Gen/Play allowing you to work in the main Biab and instantly transfer to any DAW not needing BBW4 running in the background. The Transfer Tracks button you now have in the BBW4 Style Picker they can put in the main Biab.

So rather than just sending the wav instruction to the PLUGIN in Reaper it will send to the PLUGIN in ANY DAW allowing instant transfer of all or individual tracks.
These will be sent to the PLUGIN but stored in SavedTracks folder so they can be loaded into a PLUGIN track or dropped in any time.
They are not massive wav files filling up the hard drive, they are just small data files like midi:
Bass - 1011 Bass, Electric, BritInvasion Ev 120.RTrackTemplate
Bass - 1011 Bass, Electric, BritInvasion Ev 120_RC.mid
Drums - RealDrums=RockClassicBritEv^2-a Snare, Closed HiHat , b Snare, Open HiHat.RTrackTemplate
Drums - RealDrums=RockClassicBritEv^2-a Snare, Closed HiHat , b Snare, Open HiHat _RC.mid

This is an example of how the PLUGIN programmer needs to wait on the BBW4 programmer to fix things in BBW4 first for the PLUGIN to be fixed and work:
Current Fixes Needed for 6.0.13 (Reaper)
REAPER - “Use Reaper Instructions” During Transfer Garbles &Distorts Tracks In Reaper
DAW Send Reaper Instructions to Tracks Puts Gaps in Generated Tracks

The Band-in-a-Box® Flash Drive Backup Option

Today (April 5) is National Flash Drive Day!

Did you know... not only can you download your Band-in-a-Box® Pro, MegaPAK, or PlusPAK purchase - you can also choose to add a flash drive backup copy with the installation files for only $15? It even comes with a Band-in-a-Box® keychain!

For the larger Band-in-a-Box® packages (UltraPAK, UltraPAK+, Audiophile Edition), the hard drive backup copy is available for only $25. This will include a preinstalled and ready to use program, along with your installation files.

Backup copies are offered during the checkout process on our website.

Already purchased your e-delivery version, and now you wish you had a backup copy? It's not too late! If your purchase was for the current version of Band-in-a-Box®, you can still reach out to our team directly to place your backup copy order!

Note: the Band-in-a-Box® keychain is only included with flash drive backup copies, and cannot be purchased separately.

Handy flash drive tip: Always try plugging in a USB device the wrong way first? If your flash drive (or other USB plug) doesn't have a symbol to indicate which way is up, look for the side with a seam on the metal connector (it only has a line across one side) - that's the side that either faces down or to the left, depending on your port placement.

Band-in-a-Box® 2024 Review: 4.75 out of 5 Stars!

If you're looking for a in-depth review of the newest Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows version, you'll definitely find it with Sound-Guy's latest review, Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows Review: Incredible new capabilities to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs.

A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."

"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."

"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
