Good morning all....

I got off my duff and finished this one.
For the record: NO!....I've never sat at a casino table and gambled. smile

Many thanks to Ken for his creative input and great axe playing.
Thanks for giving it a listen and hope you find it worthy of your time.

Have a great weekend everyone....

"Gamblin Man" 112 bpm Key of C

Verse 1:
I had my taste of money knowing when to say ‘hit me’ or ‘stay’.
Every day was sunny, an easy life of beaches and babes.
Some will say I’m lucky, others say I’m out on the prowl. (you betcha’, he just might getcha’)
Nothing lasts forever. I dread the day my luck runs out. (hold on ‘cause it’s comin’)

Chorus:
Gamblin’ was my game, it’s a risky occupation. I never let them see me sweat.
I always read the table, never get impatient and count the cards before I bet.

Verse 3:
Pretend I’m passin’ through, just another face in the crowd.
Stay calm, cool, collected, this is not the place to run afoul. (you know better, could lose your treasure)

Chorus 2:
Gamblin’ was my game, I tried to walk away. Lord knows how hard that I tried.
Tables full of strangers, a life could be in danger. Knowing every exit is wise.

Bridge: Db/ Eb/ Fm7// Db/ C7/ Fm7/ G7/

SOLO: (chorus music) Cm/ Bbm/ Eb/ Fm7/ Cm/ Bbm/ C//

Verse 4:
My mind is all a jumble, I don’t know when to raise or to fold.
Got myself in trouble with all the wrong people I owe.

Chorus 2

Outro: bridge music – fade to end

Wayne and Ken

This is like going back and listening to a song by Cream! Thought I was listening to Eric, Jack and Ginger! What a cool song! That guitar is smokin' and I love that organ you put in! It's a great jammin song for sure! Great job!

Thanks, Torrey

You know I'd love that driving bass. What a good song, Wayne. Man, Ken sure is good at making a good song better. Good choice of harmonies too. There's no gamble on this one --it's an instant winner.

Enjoy whatever happens!

Well good morning gentlemen....

Howdy Torrey....
We thank you for taking the time to give a listen and the generous, favorable comments.
Having a good guitarist to collaborate on my drivel is nothing short of serendipity for this old bird.
In case I didn't mention it, I suck at lead guitar. smile

Howdy Marty....
Ha....glad you approve of the bass.
I love a 'driving bass also....maybe that's obvious by now.
Plus, my writing style usually calls for it. smile

Thank you both again for giving it a spin and the very kind words.

Have a great day everyone....

Outstanding guitar, bass, and B3 - great backing band

Outstanding mix

A real toe tapper

Loved it

Those guitar tracks are ACE.
Cool song - might need to lift the organ to balance the rhythm gtr though.

Cheers

Top of the mornin'....

Howdy Brad....
I thank you for stopping by and kind comment.
I just send it off to Ken when I'm done and he never disappoints.

Howdy Mario....
I was pleased with the final product.
You know how it can go....one listens/assesses a song over and over and I begin to wonder if it's any good. smile
Many thanks for chiming in with the generous comments.

Howyd rayc....
Ken does a fine job, that's for sure.
The organ wasn't supposed to be very present, just bedding but I'll give it another listen based on your comments.
I thank you for taking the time to listen and comment.

Have great day everyone....

Not bad at all. Bet this was a lot of fun to put together. Organ was fighting with the lead vocal a bit in the mix but it wasn't bad (and maybe just on my monitors). Thanks for sharing.

Rick
8.7 out of 10. Very nice.

We’ve never gambled either, Wayne, but your lyric conjures up a pretty cinematic scene for us.

Great driving rocker with excellent vocals and guitar by you and Ken. We too really like your choice of bass and organ RT’s.

The mix is excellent and we are always down with a shuffle smile

Y’all make a great team!

Good morning everyone...

Howdy Rick....
Thanks very much for stopping by and commenting.
I didn't hear the conflict you refer to but everyone's monitors will translate differently.
But....I'm noted for sometimes being a bit too conservative with the lead vox volume. smile
Yes...I enjoyed putting this one together but I would suck at the game.

Howdy J&B....
Thanks for listening and the generous kind words.
Ha....that subject offers up all kinds of imagery to my pea brain.
I hear on the 'shuffle' thing bit I didn't want it to be too up tempo....112 bpm seemed to be about right.
It would be easy to get too verbose so I had to imagine the bullet points.
Then, get the chorus nailed down.

Thanks again to all of you for listening/commenting.
Have a great day....

Thanks for giving it a spin and the kind comment.

I don't gamble myself but it was fun to write about in the creative sense.
No guarantees my song will help anyone win. smile

Have lucky day....:)

Mornin' BD....
Ha....no, really...I've never gambled at a gambling table! smile
I'm quite sure I'd be one of lose all your money in record time magnets.

Howdy Deej....
I feel very fortunate to have a lead guitarist who likes my material enough to contribute his talents.
Otherwise, I'd probably have many still sitting in a lonely "Unfinished" folder. smile
This song makes the 15th collaboration that we have done together.

Thanks very much gents for taking the time to give it a spin and very kind comments.
Having our peers comment on our efforts makes all that we do worth while.

A good weekend to everyone....

The choirs are well done. I really like the guitar and the hammond sound. It's pleasant. I appreciated.

The Band-in-a-Box® Flash Drive Backup Option

Today (April 5) is National Flash Drive Day!

Did you know... not only can you download your Band-in-a-Box® Pro, MegaPAK, or PlusPAK purchase - you can also choose to add a flash drive backup copy with the installation files for only $15? It even comes with a Band-in-a-Box® keychain!

For the larger Band-in-a-Box® packages (UltraPAK, UltraPAK+, Audiophile Edition), the hard drive backup copy is available for only $25. This will include a preinstalled and ready to use program, along with your installation files.

Backup copies are offered during the checkout process on our website.

Already purchased your e-delivery version, and now you wish you had a backup copy? It's not too late! If your purchase was for the current version of Band-in-a-Box®, you can still reach out to our team directly to place your backup copy order!

Note: the Band-in-a-Box® keychain is only included with flash drive backup copies, and cannot be purchased separately.

Handy flash drive tip: Always try plugging in a USB device the wrong way first? If your flash drive (or other USB plug) doesn't have a symbol to indicate which way is up, look for the side with a seam on the metal connector (it only has a line across one side) - that's the side that either faces down or to the left, depending on your port placement.

Band-in-a-Box® 2024 Review: 4.75 out of 5 Stars!

If you're looking for a in-depth review of the newest Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows version, you'll definitely find it with Sound-Guy's latest review, Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows Review: Incredible new capabilities to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs.

A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."

"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."

"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
