Can you give more details about the monitoring settings and also the settings to record the audio.
Your explanation doesn't mention the Record Audio Dialog Window or it's settings.
Troubles initially started with saving an audio recording with or without "Retain audio past last recorded" as it did not seem to work as expected.
I then started a new song to have a fresh start for further testing. An audio recording was made and saving was done with unchecked "Retain ..." The logic in BIAB is then, as there is just an empty .wav file, that it will not save anything. There is a default setting when you initially save with a checked "Retain ..." which seems like a quick SW fix for resolving this operating case. Could be improved in functionality, e.g. check file size and grey-out the "Retain ..." option.
But still the "Retain ..." option does not work, it never deletes any audio after the latest take!
Thanks for clarifying your setup. With the additional information you provided, I would do a 'return to factory settings' and restart the program and that may clear the glitch you're having with saving. Otherwise, you also may want to contact PG Staff on live chat.
A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."
"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."
"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
