This has been happening to me for a year with various styles and real drums.
While working on a song with Real Drums, I place all my part markers and select my a,b, groove variations. But then decide to swap out the real drums for a different one. The track was unfrozen and I regenerated the new realdrum. The name of the new one appears in the track but I could only hear the old one. I right click on the part marker and see the old real drum name in grey with it a,b,c,d groove variations in black to select. I check the bar settings for that bar and no realdrums is assigned. I can assign the desired realdrum for that bar but have to do this to each individual part marker.
Is there any way around this tedious method of swapping out Realdrum sets for songs with part markers and groove variations?
One typical cause of this (not saying it's your answer) is that another audio file exists with the same name as your song, both in the same folder. If so, you will hear both. So, did you ever render your song to WAV or MP3? Or do you have an audio file you started with and are trying to duplicate or enhance with BIAB?
Let us know. We can try other things if needed.
Edit: ps the part about having to assign a new RealDrum every bar is weird, and something I’ve never heard before. Have you tried the standard first step remedy of Options, Return to Factory Settings, Most?

No new wav or mp3 was created and I wasn't hearing any other audio.
After selecting a new realdrum patch for the track, I needed to assign the new realdrum to the measure of each part marker in order to not hear the previous realdrum that was replaced. I wished there would be an edit window with an overview for ALL the part markers and their groove variations . Maybe this anomaly is realdrum patch specific.
How did you "swap out" the Realdrums? If we can get an insight into your method, we can try and re-create you problem.

I select the style for the song, use one long chorus and begin work on it. During that stage, I set up part markers and select drum variations (a,b,c...) .If I decide I want a different realdrums track I right click on the track and select a different RD. Regen and play. Most of the time this works ok but occasionally the previous RD track is what I hear and is listed in gray inside the part marker/ drum variation menu. The bar settings does not show this.

Handy flash drive tip: Always try plugging in a USB device the wrong way first? If your flash drive (or other USB plug) doesn't have a symbol to indicate which way is up, look for the side with a seam on the metal connector (it only has a line across one side) - that's the side that either faces down or to the left, depending on your port placement.

A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."
"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."
"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
