I have just downloaded Ozone 10 Standard. As someone who has used Ozone, how do I install it into RealBand? When I open options under VST/DX Plugins, and try to register it, Realband says it's not supported. I'm using RealBand 2021 (6) (64 bit).

Thanks!

My use of the "home studio" recording world is limited by my lack of skill and smaller scope than many people, so my plugin use is also limited. I am much more interested in playing music than recording music.

I record stuff, so I have something to play over. If I record a bass part using a bass guitar or a keyboard, I often don't get it right and have to "correct" things using plugins that serve that purpose.

Plugins that I use every day.

Melodyne, which I highly recommend. I also use autotune, but it is a subscription and expensive.

All the plugins that came with PreSonus Studio One Pro

My money gets spent on music production software like BIAB, Synth V, Toontracks, Addictive Drums, or Trilian which is a super good bass "plugin/insterment". It is expensive but worth the money.

This whole subscription thing is irritating as hell, but in some cases there is no way to get around it.

Ozone 10 is likely a VST3 plugin, not supported by RB.
You can poke around and see if it also included a VST2 version.
Otherwise there are wrappers out there that you can load into RB that would allow RB to use VST3.

I think Elements is one, https://www.reatrak.com/downloads/biab/vst3shell_v1.2.1.zip (VST3Shell) is another .. maybe MiniHost ..

Misha,
it might be worthwhile deleting, or having moderators remove, the contrary posts so that others who come to this thread for the suggestions don't have to scroll down or get turned off by the side arguments.
It's a solid idea well worth keeping on the rails.

I use a lot of the T-Racks stuff from IK Multimedia. If you wait for one of their group buys, you can get a bunch of stuff dirt cheap. The Sunset Sound reverb is phenomenal.

Other than that, I mix in Harrison Mixbus 32c, which is like one giant channel strip plugin itself.

Harrison's XT-DC Drum Character and XT-TG Tom-Tom Gate are awesome.

Ray,
Unfortunately it's life. People who post completely unrelated stuff should be the ones to delete their posts. There is nothing crazy that they posted, just unrelated doodles. Besides, PG team is red hot now with recent Mac release smile
----

Byron,
+1 on T-Racks
I have some of them that I picked up a few years back, but that Sunset reverb was only a demo in that package. I did try it and liked it. I do have some credits with IK, will check if I can get it.

While on IK subject, another VST piece that came with one of their monster packages is called:
Lurssen Mastering Console.
David Cuny showed it to me some time ago. I just couldn't justify $160 retail. But, once that super-hot-flash-once-in-a-lifetime sale came up, I got it as a part of the package. I do use it quite often now. While controls are basic, it seems they emulated some interesting hardware. Sort of fake mastering as most modules don't have individual controls, but presets, still makes mix sound richer. As Byron mentioned, the trick is to get IK stuff when it is on wild sale.

While IK software is available as non-subscription, the key is to save installers and keep them in safe place, as they would disappear from site. IK is usually good about courtesy, but sometimes they are very stubborn.

If you haven't already done so.... Go get cakewalk by bandlab and download it. O10 runs perfectly fine in there. It's a free full featured DAW.

The Band-in-a-Box® Flash Drive Backup Option

Today (April 5) is National Flash Drive Day!

Did you know... not only can you download your Band-in-a-Box® Pro, MegaPAK, or PlusPAK purchase - you can also choose to add a flash drive backup copy with the installation files for only $15? It even comes with a Band-in-a-Box® keychain!

For the larger Band-in-a-Box® packages (UltraPAK, UltraPAK+, Audiophile Edition), the hard drive backup copy is available for only $25. This will include a preinstalled and ready to use program, along with your installation files.

Backup copies are offered during the checkout process on our website.

Already purchased your e-delivery version, and now you wish you had a backup copy? It's not too late! If your purchase was for the current version of Band-in-a-Box®, you can still reach out to our team directly to place your backup copy order!

Note: the Band-in-a-Box® keychain is only included with flash drive backup copies, and cannot be purchased separately.

Handy flash drive tip: Always try plugging in a USB device the wrong way first? If your flash drive (or other USB plug) doesn't have a symbol to indicate which way is up, look for the side with a seam on the metal connector (it only has a line across one side) - that's the side that either faces down or to the left, depending on your port placement.

Band-in-a-Box® 2024 Review: 4.75 out of 5 Stars!

If you're looking for a in-depth review of the newest Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows version, you'll definitely find it with Sound-Guy's latest review, Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows Review: Incredible new capabilities to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs.

A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."

"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."

"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
