This is a no brainer deal it will do what EZKeys does but way more.

http://musicdevelopments.com/shop.html

You can try the demo first.
http://musicdevelopments.com/demo.html

All our software 40% off until April 20!

RapidComposer v4 (music prototyping): $199 $119
RapidComposer v4 LE (music prototyping): $79 $47
Melodya (motive generator and editor plug-in): $49 $29
MIDI Mutator (MIDI file processor plug-in): $49 $29
Syne (modular additive synth plug-in): $89 $53

RapidComposer full edition orders receive free Melodya and MIDI Mutator licenses (by request).

RapidComposer VST/Standalone you can open Yamaha Styles save them to the library (rename to.mid).
Run the VST inside Biab.
Drag the chord track from Biab into RapidComposer Midi Import to give the same chords. I think they were planing on implementing it to just work with Yamaha styles.
You can drag midi style tracks from Biab into RapidComposer and save them to the library.
You can Drag midi phrases from the internet and save to library.
You can drag midi loops from EZKey, EZDrummer and EZBass and save to library.
It will fit any phrase/loop/track/stem to any progression, it will handle more chords/any chords than Biab or EZKeys.

Here's a minimal video showing basic functions.
There are a lot more features being added like being able to save pitch bends and controllers with the phrases.
Will go more into that later.
You have articulation maps so you can save articulations to notes in the phrases.
You can create realistic strum patterns using the virtual instrument keyswitches, these can be save to the library and fit to any chord progression.

Here's an old demo using the Ample Bass articulations. It uses the map in RC to play the articulations in the midi from the Ample library or any you may add manually. So you can import Guitar Pro Tabs into Ample then save them as phrases in RC with all the articulations that can be dropped into any chord progression and play all the articulations over any chord or octave.

This is from another post:

Don't forget you have Guitar Pro Tabs (thousands), if you don't have Guitar Pro you can use TuxGuitar that will convert to midi it also has a batch converter under the Tools menu.
And as mentioned you can load Guitar Pro Tabs in Ample VST's and the free Ample and drop the phrases into RapidComposer and it will play all the GP articulations over any chord or octave.

You have Midi Mutator that is included in RapidComposer or separate.

Drop a MIDI pattern on MIDI Mutator to start transforming it into a new original pattern! Fully replace or slightly modify the rhythm with a single click. Experiment with other chord voicings, or replace the chords. Bass lines, chord patterns work equally well. The new MIDI sequence can be dragged directly to your DAW, or stored with a single click.

• regenerate the rhythm using 6 rhythm generator algorithms from RapidComposer, plus a new one that preserves exact note and rest lengths, suitable for modern genres
• use rhythm from another MIDI file
• slice a pattern, then rearrange slices randomly
• displace notes randomly, randomize note positions and/or lengths
• extend, widen, randomize chord voicings, replace the chord progression
• change the beat positions to change the feel
• replace or randomize accents
• increase/decrease polyphony
• randomize pitches
• for monophonic phrases: change the contour, add connecting notes.
• simple activation. No internet connection is required for activation or operation

If you purchase RC you you can download the Beta version, this is being developed day to day with new features added and bugs fixed.
Attila is there all the time engaging with users.

RapidComposer v4.7b7 is available!

Lots of improvements for MIDI CC editing, and a new melody generator (idea by Chris Caulder) in this update.

Improvements:

Copying/pasting MIDI CC events is possible: "Select all", "Copy selection", "Paste to current time", "Remove selection" added to CC menu
MIDI CC editor rubberbox selection improvements: hold Shift to extend selection vertically to all values
MIDI CC values can be set for multiple events at once
Reset button added to the MIDI CC function generator
Fixed: after an undo in the MIDI CC editor, the tool selection was not restored
New phrase generator: "Melody Generator v2". This works on the scales specified by the chords rather than the master track scale, and has scale tone usage options. Settings were simplified.
Experimental: import chords from MusicXML files (.musicxml or .xml; .mxl files need to be unzipped!). You can drop a MusicXML file to the progression browser. Please note: not all such files include harmony tags, the chords are extracted from the harmony tags!

I downloaded the demo but couldn't get it to work. Most likely user error.

My wife asked if I had seen the dog bowl. I told her I didn't even know he could.

Neither the VST or Standalone, with BIAB or my DAW or anywhere at all. Just wouldn't work. I got rid of it already. Thanks.

I work with software all day every day and have for about 35 years now. If I can't get something to work right, it is not worth my time. It is not an indictment of the software or of you or anyone that uses it. It just wasn't for me. I don't really need the functions it would provide. I was just going to try it out and most likely get rid of it in the end anyway. I don't use BIAB in this way. Thanks for the link and for offering to help. Really!!

The Band-in-a-Box® Flash Drive Backup Option

Today (April 5) is National Flash Drive Day!

Did you know... not only can you download your Band-in-a-Box® Pro, MegaPAK, or PlusPAK purchase - you can also choose to add a flash drive backup copy with the installation files for only $15? It even comes with a Band-in-a-Box® keychain!

For the larger Band-in-a-Box® packages (UltraPAK, UltraPAK+, Audiophile Edition), the hard drive backup copy is available for only $25. This will include a preinstalled and ready to use program, along with your installation files.

Backup copies are offered during the checkout process on our website.

Already purchased your e-delivery version, and now you wish you had a backup copy? It's not too late! If your purchase was for the current version of Band-in-a-Box®, you can still reach out to our team directly to place your backup copy order!

Note: the Band-in-a-Box® keychain is only included with flash drive backup copies, and cannot be purchased separately.

Handy flash drive tip: Always try plugging in a USB device the wrong way first? If your flash drive (or other USB plug) doesn't have a symbol to indicate which way is up, look for the side with a seam on the metal connector (it only has a line across one side) - that's the side that either faces down or to the left, depending on your port placement.

Band-in-a-Box® 2024 Review: 4.75 out of 5 Stars!

If you're looking for a in-depth review of the newest Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows version, you'll definitely find it with Sound-Guy's latest review, Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows Review: Incredible new capabilities to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs.

A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."

"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."

"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
