Seems to be ok....apart from when I click to preview a suggested alternate intstrunment, I get the whole real style playing instead of a the single selection. Its a bit difficult to identify say a bass sample with a whole band playing with it.
Correct me if Im wrong but I thought when the single instrument sample was selected it would play by itself.
If I go to the real tracks picker dialog....that will play as a solo instrument. Any assistance appreciated. Cheers

Thanks for your response Audio Track. Example…if I have a song loaded and want to change the bass-style. I can either click on the mixer bass or the icon on the top line to show best chording real tracks. When I go to select a new bass style to preview, I get lots of instruments playing…not my song. On the other hand if I go to the right hand menu and select tracks whick brings up the whole list of real tracks…they will play solo. I have tried muting the other instruments on the mixer but still get a conglomeration of instruments playing. Hope that is sort of clear.

Hope this may clarify...if I can manage a screen shot...

My suspicions are if you select and play a sample audio file from the RealTracks Picker, it will play a pre-recorded Audio sample using that instrument, and not your current song. That's probably why it sounds so different.
It won't play that instrument in your song unless you select a RealTrack and press 'OK and Generate Now'.
With the "Main RealTracks Picker", you can listen to the Solo instrument or with an accompaniment, but I don't think it works that way with the "Select Best RealTracks" picker.
Others may know more. Hope this helps.

Thanks Audio Track, ave taken the disc drive from my old laptop and have the same software installed on it...somewhat of a backup I guess. When I choose the option from the mixer to preview intruments, only that instrument plays. I will try and get a video of the issue on the next page. Thanks

I watched the video. Is it from the disc drive from the old laptop? The above reply seems to suggest that it is, but I can't really tell. Thanks for clarifying.

Thanks Audio Track, No, that is from my new laptop. Not sure whether you can hear but each selection plays a whole band. If I go back to my old disc, only the selected instrument plays. Somewhere along the installation I must have pressed a wrong option somewhere. Think I may have to do a reinstall, but will talk to PG when they are over the weekend break in Canada. Thanks for your persistence.

Handy flash drive tip: Always try plugging in a USB device the wrong way first? If your flash drive (or other USB plug) doesn't have a symbol to indicate which way is up, look for the side with a seam on the metal connector (it only has a line across one side) - that's the side that either faces down or to the left, depending on your port placement.

"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."
"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."
"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
