So, this song had some major twists and turns in development.
It started off as a joke for Bob Dean to show him how (if he really wanted to sound like Lou Reed) he was going to have to use at least ONE minor chord somewhere. But then, when I recorded my guitar parts, I decided I actually like this song, and it was a real song, not a joke. Sorry, Bob. Maybe next time.
I also had a lot of fun combing through BIAB to find exactly the right Real Tracks (including some Brent Mason solo snippets) to get EXACTLY the sound I wanted, to create the “epic swell.” Not “sort of” close but EXACTLY CLOSE. The right panned acoustic guitar I played was the very last thing to go in, as I was asking myself: “Something is missing. What is it?”
In this case I was able to get exactly the sound I was looking for by mixing my own tracks with Real Tracks.
When I walk along these big city streets I look down at the pavement I look down at my feet if someone's to blame it's easy to see the person who's wasted this morning is me yeah the problem ain't nothing but the problem with me

Yep, definitely a real song. Nice wall of sound with the guitars and pad. Catchy riff, too. More Tom Petty than Lou Reed to my ears, but anywhere in between is a great place to be musically. A very, VERY fine track. Nice work, David!

David, I also got a Tom Petty vibe from then excellent song. "I need a big change of heart" is a fabulous hook. Super backing band. Mixed to perfection. Sounds great David.

Great Lou Reed song, but you do it better, David. No joke. Not Tom Petty beause thebass player is playing more than just constant 8th notes. I also heard a Tay-Tay quote in there. Seriously, this is really a good good song. I can definitely see why you changed your heart about it.
Great song. I suspect a lot of people will relate - me too!
