Hi all,

Sorry, this is about as newby as it gets ... I realise BIAB can probably do this but unfortunately my PC with BIAB is on loan just now. A friend has asked me to do something based around 4 chords. She's expressed them as tab. I only read "piano roll" or, in a pinch, sheet music. Would someone be kind enough to tell me what are the notes in each of these 4 chords?

"Capo 2
0320(3-0)0
x332(1-0)0
x554(3-0)0
x332(1-0)0"

The chord finder is a valuable tool for finding both notes and the names of chords:
https://www.oolimo.com/en/guitar-chords/analyze

1-F#-D-F#-A-(E-C#)-F#
2+4 - x-D-G-B-(D-C#)-F#
3-x-E-A-C#-(E-C#)-F#

Sorry, may I ask, what is happening within the parentheses? E.g. in 1, is it a slide from E to C#? I ask as I only just counted and realised there are 7 notes, and with only 6 guitar strings, that is the only guess which makes sense to me.

My aim is to feed these as quantised block chords into BIAB or something else which brings them to life, and I can't figure out how I'd do this based on this format

I wondered the same (I don't play guitar) and was looking it up when I saw your post.
I found this:

"Normal brackets () are sometimes used for grace notes or optional notes"

I guess in the case you've been given, they're options, 0 or 3 and 0 or 1.

No it is not a slide. It would be a pull off or a hammer on. For example in #1 you would strum the chord using the first note in the parentheses (E), then pull off that finger so the C# plays. If it was in reverse, (C#-E) one would play the chord using the C# then put you finger on the E, a hammer on, i.e. google guitar hammer ons and pull offs for more info. A hammer on or pull off can be of any note duration, a grace note or longer.

I hope this helps.

Know you've already got your answer (thanks, Mario!), but this is a cool chord sound I play with a lot because I like the harmonic ambiguities and the open E/B strings. In simplest form, this progression can be thought of (and entered into BiaB) as DMaj7, GMaj7, A6, GMaj7. But depending on the rhythmic placement of the pulled of notes on the B string, other variations (Dadd2 for example) might be more appropriate.
