in this file from the 3rd variation you start hearing BB going 'BBananas', with drums superimposed to others.

I was hoping that I could actually use this program....every 3 years I give it a try. I'll try again in 2026 or 2027, I guess, in this current version it is of no use to me, I want to use stuff that works.

PS. I see I can't attach the mp3. So be it, you'll have to take my word for it. Other problems: it crashed after selecting some midi supertracks or whatever. I am using Ventura last version, whatever that is.

No more.

If you use the full editor there is a attachment manager at the bottom.

BIAB takes a bit of effort on your part to make some progress.

It can be frustrating.
It’s a fairly sophisticated pile of software that can do a lot of things.
Sometimes getting it to do what you want takes a while

If you provide some information, perhaps a Sgu somebody on this forum can help you.
We can at least identify a few approaches to try to accomplish your objective.

that may or may not use biab….
Such is life

yeah.....''it's deep and rich''......'' it takes a bit of effort''.....''such is life''....blah blah....
your arguments are common tricks: as Schopenhauer explained, ''when you want to cheaply defeat someone's argument, generalize so much that the other party's argument cannot but be included in your cheap generalization.''.
It's cheap, and it works. But not with the ones who can spot the trick.
NO, band in a box is BUGGY. I have used music software from Native Instruments, Toontrack, and others, for years, and I pretty much NEVER get any of the problems I get with Band in a box.

It's BUGGY. So go ahead, do your 'bits of effort', and grow old quickly in the process. I have better things to do with my time.

one just needs to lurk in the forums to see it happening over and over with endless examples: this is not working, that is not working, this doesn't appear, that doesn't disappear, this is not happening, that is not happening, etc.

I have been checking out this program since about 2007, on and off. How much more time and effort do I need to put in, another fifteen years?

This is actually the last time I tried this, I don't need band in a box anymore, anyways, I learned a lot about music during these years. I can play, and no software will ever be able to take the place of real musical knowledge and skill.

to PG Music, goodbye.

Yes Band in a Box is a really great idea and the Realtracks and Realdrums are second to none, I grant that. There's nothing else like the Realtracks, they really sound incredible and no sampling libraries can match them, but as a musician I need reliability. I'd rather have had Band in a Box with 200 midi styles and 40 Realtracks and rock solid performance, than having all the zillion features the program has, but poor reliability. I want to get stuff done, I am a committed musician, not someone who has the time to fiddle with unpredictable computer problems. I remember when I first started to use the program many years ago, it worked a LOT better. And the reason why, was explained by the scientist Stephen Hawking:

When you create more possibilities, you also create more possibilities for things to go wrong.

An inexorable, mathematical rule that applies to every aspect of existence.

Many of us use Band in a Box to make professional quality backing tracks using MIDI, Real Tracks and often other software ( a DAW for example). Some folks do other things too, but that’s my main use.

You may need BIAB to do other things.
Possibly it will do those things.
Possibly not.
At least consider the possibility that you may currently lack the skill set necessary to makeBIAB do those things you wish it to do.
For example, attaching files is a general skill you might want to learn. It may serve you on other forums.
From there the learning just gets better.

There are many on this forum who will try to help you get there.
Some of us however lack the ability to read your mind.
Help us help you.

However, If you want to vent in a non-specific whine, May I suggest a street corner somewhere.
Many are empty and available.

He doesn’t want help or he would post a legitimate question. He wants to gripe and whine because his system doesn’t work. Never offering anything that is remotely related to what the real issue is. These types come along from time to time claiming to be a “real musician” maybe so maybe not we will never know. One thing is always the same they never take responsibility for what may be their own problem.

They stick around and keep griping and threatening to leave. I guess it is a cry for attention. This is a music forum not a therapy session!

To any other users who are thinking of buying Band in a Box:

I'll say it once again, BUY it and TRY it for yourself. PG Music is a credible and serious company and it gives you a 30 days warranty if you buy directly. If then you want your money back you can get that, they will absolutely not quibble about it, and if you like the program, you keep it and everyone's happy.

Don't let someone else's experience (like mine) dictate yours, because it's totally unnecessary. Peace.
