Hello,
I am new to BIAB. Just got the latest instaled on a macbook.
I am having issues recording audio. Its irregular.
I select the 'audio' track to record on. I go through and record a take. I select 'keep it' and nothing, no take empty or otherwise.
So i select some random track and it records but only for about 30 seconds, then drops out.
I am able to record fine in garagband.
It used to work ok in biab and for no reason just quit working today.
When it did work and i wanted to record another take i could get the previous take to not play and had to mute the track.

i'm not a mac user .. just a windows one...sorry...yuk you go...lol...but hth...
as nobody has popped by yet to answer you.
in these types of situations haveing helped many users over the years...a picture of your audio interface audio settings in bb are important so people have a base line to help. plus version of mac sonoma you have installed.
i would also compare your audio interface bb audio settings to gband audio interface audio settings re the sound device your useing and look for any differences between gband and bb audio settings.
ive seen it many times whereby something has been reset somewhere.
just some ideas as a starting point. hth etc etc.

Double-check in the Apple | System Preferences | Security & Privacy | Privacy | Microphone, and make sure Band-in-a-Box is listed there. If not, find the Band-in-a-Box .app in Finder and drag it to that list.

To Andrew's point, all audio apps and DAWs on a Mac must be granted access to the microphone under Security and Privacy. @Andrew, checked the privacy settings. BIAB was on.
So I reinstalled BAIB. Recorded the startup song that showed up and it recorded fine.
Then I went to my previously saved song and tried to record again. It does not record. So, I figure i've done something strange within the song.

Ok. I just tried again on another track within the same song. I recorded the first three measures and stopped recording.
