I have been doing some experimenting with Realband and find it very interesting. Compared to most of you, I'm not a pro musician, just an old geezer having fun. What I like to do best is to compose complete tunes using only Band in a Box and Realband. I find that there seems to be no limit to what you can do if you put some work in it. Here is a nice example of a complete jazz tune that you could hear in a smoky night club. If you like it, I could post other examples that are completely different. I have some nice blues to show off. I also have some tunes that use a combination of Realtracks and MIDI on my Sonic Cell. Thanks for any comment. Here is the tune: http://pages.videotron.com/ve2cjw/jazz%20sextet.mp3 Enjoy.
Mike.

Mike, I enjoyed it. You may want to try a couple of things. You might want to get rid of the lead in clicks unless you intended to keep them in there. Also try lowering the volume on the sax just a little bit and add more reverb to it to move it back in the mix a little.

Hi guys. The URL works fine here. Don't know what's wrong. Sorry. I'll try to find another place to post my songs. Thanks.

Hi John. To answer simply, the last time I ever played something was 46 years ago when I played the trumpet in a marching band. In this song, everything was played with Realtracks but it did necessitate some work on my part. I'm going to post some songs that are quite different to show what Realtracks can really do. I get my fun in trying to build bands out of the offered Realtracks. Sometimes it clicks fine but other times, it's horrible. Thanks for your interest.
Mike.

Band-in-a-Box® 2024 Review: 4.75 out of 5 Stars!

If you're looking for a in-depth review of the newest Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows version, you'll definitely find it with Sound-Guy's latest review, Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows Review: Incredible new capabilities to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs.

A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."

"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."

"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
