I was rather hoping for a description of a couple of 'unresolved' endings that I know/use: The V(b5) and the bVI. Perhaps there aren't enough popular songs that use them, or perhaps they're not considered unresolved in the sense David uses it. Jazz relative beginner, starting at a much older age than was helpful. AVL:MXE Linux; Windows 11 BIAB2024 Audiophile, a bunch of other software. Kawai MP6, Ui24R, Focusrite Saffire Pro40 and Scarletts .

But I think of all of these as I chords: I6, Isus4 and !M7 even though the bass is not always the I... I don't know enough theory to know exactly the relationship of the final chord to the key, but it sounds good to me.
