Is there any outside training resource for learning BIAB? I have looked but only found a couple short basic courses on the basics.

I am looking for something more step by step to take me from the beginning to master. Every year there's a bunch of new features and a video that explains them. Great if you are already familiar with the program. But for someone who hasn't kept up from the beginning not so great.

And there's so much to learn about that I'd feel better with a comprehensive approach.

And the PG music tutorials are good but not in a sequence, building on what was previously learned.

Thanks. Yeah I saw that one. And it is on sale. I don't mind it being old. It doesn't look too thorough
. At least something. though.

I think expertise with BIAB is mostly about “time on the rock”.
A fishing expression we had about putting in your time.
You can learn some skills from others but its mostly on you.
Sometimes you just have to pound it out.

BIAB is a complex program with numerous ways to accomplish the same objective. Ultimately you will just have to spend enough time with the program to develop a workflow that suits your creative genius.

A few jumpstarts exist- Henry Clarks channel mentioned above is good.

To get good takes time. And efforts.
Lots of efforts.
Then one day you realize your stuff no longer sounds like a karaoke bar in a lousy restaurant.

I agree. However, most other complex programs out there have thorough training resources to speed up the process. I was hoping for something like that for biab.

I just posted this as a possibility, but have not tried it.

Perhaps I'll try just blasting through the manual. Hopefully it's better written than most technical manuals.

At a certain level, there's no getting around that.

True but we can point you in the right direction. At the beginning level, everything begins with a Style. If we know what genre you are comfortable with, we can make a few suggestions.

When starting, even that is not bad as you'll have something under your belt. Once you get the basic feel of BIAB, you will get better.

In the mean time, please post a Signature that includes your OS, version of BIAB and the year. This will keep us from having to ask every time you post a question. Click on your User Name in the upper right of the forum screen and select Edit Profile to begin.
