Wow, that is indeed dark! I wouldn't trust the sentiments too much. Sinéad O'Connor was infamously very, very, anti-English. There was a lot of politics going on. In this case, the "black boys on mopeds" crashed and killed themselves. They were being followed/pursued by police because the moped was stolen. IIRC they tried to escape by going through some barriers that blocked the police car and the boys crashed a little later.
Jazz relative beginner, starting at a much older age than was helpful.

I wasn't protesting at the use of the song.
Sinéad was very troubled, hence her suicide.
Jazz relative beginner, starting at a much older age than was helpful.

Actually, it was her son Shane that died by suicide in 2022. Sinéad passed away from an exacerbation of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) and bronchial asthma, combined with a lower respiratory tract infection.
