Hi all
While waiting on the arrival of BIAB 2011 (takes a wee bit longer here in Europe) I'm still fooling around with BIAB 2010.5 and I just love it. Browsing through various styles yesterday I started to compile some funky stuff. Well, here it is (smashed to death I know but it's got to be LOUD).
Cheers, Daniel

Great funk!

Love that sax and trumpet call and response.

Super mix.

Me, it's not about how many times you fail, it's about how many times you get back up.
Cop, that's not how field sobriety tests work.

Thank you Marty and Mario. As I mentioned, it's work in progress. Made already some changes to the mix. I can't decide on the level of bass 'n drums.

Hi Frankie. Thanks.
I don't have any automation or volume curve on the drums in this tune (only little bit on Trumpet and Sax). This tune is compressed and limited quite hard. I guess that's why the drums get less dominant in the mix. I haven't checked but will check again. Very valuable observation, thanks.
Also I took the drum volume a little bit down (and EQ'd a wee bit less bright) since the first release. Can't check right now - I'm at the office at work (as you can see ;-) and I blew one speaker here last week (was my fault, sets me back quite some $$, brand new Adam A3X).
Daniel

edit: BIAB 2011 just arrived here, the box/harddrive is sitting on my desk. How I wish I could have a go right away....
new edit one day later: BIAB 2011 works great. No HD problems. Looking forward for some spare time.

Band-in-a-Box® 2024 Review: 4.75 out of 5 Stars!

If you're looking for a in-depth review of the newest Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows version, you'll definitely find it with Sound-Guy's latest review, Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows Review: Incredible new capabilities to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs.

A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."

"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."

"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
