Hi,

This is a short clip of a Rock song idea and the first try at BB 2019.

I have a few lyrical ideas. The words will start at measure 15. There are 27 measures so far including the intro...Not crazy about the intro by the way. Just a place holder for the moment. I have not done any mixing, just raw tracks.

I assume a bridge and a chorus perhaps using minor chords F# minor, C# minor, G# minor, not in that order but keeping it in key.

Used a bass track from BB 388 Bass Electric Metal EV 120 and a rhythm track 391 Guitar Electric Metal EV 120

All other tracks are mine. I think there are much better Rock tracks in 2019 than in the 2015 addition I have.

Feel free to through beer bottles because I have chicken wire around the stage...lol

Cheers,

Billy

Thanks guys for the feedback. I have used BB for several country tunes and some blues stuff. There are better rock real tracks in 2019. we will see how it goes.

Cheers,

Billy

A good start. The guitars sound good. The drums need some beef.

Thanks Floyd,

The drums at the moment are really nothing much more than a metronome to keep me in time.

I will try to get my buddy Bob Peal in Brisbane, Australia to play a live drum track on his midi drum kit and play each kit piece on a separate midi channel. If he has the time!! That is a good bit of work to set up.

This is truly a work in progress. The idea is about how people are living on their cell phones and in cyber space.

This is a first try at some lyrics.

You Look So Cool
You Look So Hot
Hell, I know your
Just A Cyber Bot

You Make Me laugh
You Make Me Cry
You Make Me Sad
And I Wonder Why

I'm Living Here With You
In Cyber Space

Your On My Phone
Your In My Head
Facebook Telling Everyone
I'm Dead

I'm Living Here With You
In Cyber Space

You Can Watch Me
Cut Myself And Bleed
Hear Me Cry Out
On The Twitter Feed

I'm Living Here With You
In Cyber Space

Any ideas would be great!!

Cheers,

Billy

Thanks Noel,

For what ever reason, I also think this is a song worth taking the time and effort too see through to completion.

I wanted to explore the value of the 2019 version of BB in the rock genre. I think large improvements have been made to the software.

I would like to thank everyone who has commented. It is wonderful to have people take the time to listen, especially to the very beginnings of a rough idea for a song.

I don't know how I will handle the vocals...what I hear in my head is about two octaves beyond where I can sing...lol

Cheers,

Billy

Billy,

I'm sure that this is a very good basis for an awesome song - I'm really looking forward to what you'll finally be coming up with.

Hello Planobilly, this is excellent! I found this very easy to listen and a solid key signature choice too. The guitars shred and the vocals work well too!

Thanks guys for all the support.

Kenny, I had to laugh when you mention ZZ Top. I grew up in Houston, Texas and know Billy Gibbons pretty well. So, some of that could very well have influenced me.

A funny story... Billy Gibbons was sitting in Rockin Robin music store one day playing bass. I picked up a guitar and started playing with him. We never said a word to each other. In those days I found Billy to not be very talkative to begin with, at least in public. After a few minuets I set the guitar down and started to walk away. Some people had gathered around by that time. As I started to walk away someone ask "man why did you stop playing, don't you know who he is"? I looked at Billy with a grin and said " ah, he is just some hippie dude and can't play nothing anyway" Billy was able to keep a straight face and never said a word...lol

Yes, perhaps this song is turning into ZZ Top meets Black Sabbath.lol

NOTE: I can't sing to begin with but I just came back from the dentist from implant surgery and still have stitches in my mouth. So I made a silly vocal just to see where to place the vocal.
Untitled has turned into Cyber Space and a little more developed.

Billy

Hi Janice and Bud,

I was hoping to be closer to finishing than I am. Thanks for taking the time to look at the idea.

Perhaps in another few days I can post a more finished song.

Cheers,

Billy

The Band-in-a-Box® Flash Drive Backup Option

Today (April 5) is National Flash Drive Day!

Did you know... not only can you download your Band-in-a-Box® Pro, MegaPAK, or PlusPAK purchase - you can also choose to add a flash drive backup copy with the installation files for only $15? It even comes with a Band-in-a-Box® keychain!

For the larger Band-in-a-Box® packages (UltraPAK, UltraPAK+, Audiophile Edition), the hard drive backup copy is available for only $25. This will include a preinstalled and ready to use program, along with your installation files.

Backup copies are offered during the checkout process on our website.

Already purchased your e-delivery version, and now you wish you had a backup copy? It's not too late! If your purchase was for the current version of Band-in-a-Box®, you can still reach out to our team directly to place your backup copy order!

Note: the Band-in-a-Box® keychain is only included with flash drive backup copies, and cannot be purchased separately.

Handy flash drive tip: Always try plugging in a USB device the wrong way first? If your flash drive (or other USB plug) doesn't have a symbol to indicate which way is up, look for the side with a seam on the metal connector (it only has a line across one side) - that's the side that either faces down or to the left, depending on your port placement.

Band-in-a-Box® 2024 Review: 4.75 out of 5 Stars!

If you're looking for a in-depth review of the newest Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows version, you'll definitely find it with Sound-Guy's latest review, Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows Review: Incredible new capabilities to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs.

A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."

"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."

"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
